Appalling defending by Spain.
Their first H.hat-trick for 35 yrs,FFS;mediocre at club level, unstoppable for the North. Healy must eat more than 3 Shredded Wheat......Fair f*cks, I suppose.
You really are a bitter screwed up individual. :D

The Nordies performance is everything that we want from the Rep of Ireland team but we get none of it.
You can compare and contrast all you want, there is only one difference worth noting .... their players, staff and fans give a fúck.
Apathy, egos, disregard, misplaced values plague the Rep of Ireland setup and we'll never progress with all of this.
Has to be said ... the IFA are getting it right now, at this level anyway.
Congratulations. Super game, enjoyed it from start to finish. I thought the support from the fans was unbelievable.
When Raul hit the post at 2-2 they must have known their luck was in.
Super finish for the winner.

Truer words never spoken.
Norn Iron last night reminded me when we use to consistently punch above our weight because there were no pandering to ego's the strenght of the team was greater than the sum of its parts.
Having said the Lawrie still didn't look happy, didn't do an interview and the IFA head honcho was on the radio this morning talking about official statements.....

Stuck watching the England game, but wish id tuned in... Amazing result, well done! :ball:
the differance between the ROI and NI is tyhe success the ROI have had lately. For the size of ROI they have done incredibly well and expect so much which is only right I suppose.
I have a NI block booking ticket but wasnt well enough to go to match last night so had to give it to a mate of mine:mad: absolutely gutted but as long as they won.

Be fair to Blomfeld, at least he's given Healy some grudging credit :)
My eyes have seen the glory of September zero six
When Ulster's fourteen heroes put the Spaniards thru the mix
While Armada Verdeblanca showed las Ultras who's the boss
A Puyol, Raul y Aragones- digamos "Adios"!

[QUOTE=RDBloomfield;530739]Yeah, don't think Puyol was too impressed by DH's 'bogball' tactics though.......;) 2nd.goal was a good strike...though certain Scots 'refs.' would have called  the 3rd 'offside'.......& Spain are officially the biggest under-achievers ever!
QUOTE]
Your continuing dismissal of His Healyness only serves to make you look small, not him. As far as I'm concerned, if there's a better hattrick scored in the entire ECQ series, I'd like to see it.
And as for Spain being "officially" (eh?) the biggest under-achievers ever*, you might be right, but think on this. In the 27 games before last nights match, Spain had won 18, drawn 8 and lost just one, scoring 57 goals along the way and conceding 15. The defeat was 2-1 against France, in the World Cup Quarter Finals.
Something to be said for "bogball", maybe?
(* - I'd have thought England and Russia/USSR might be up there)

Healy always does the business for Northern Ireland in fairness to him whatever about club level. Did anyone notice his sneaky push on puyol before the first goal good strikers instinct i suppose. Any game i have watched on bbc ni in the last few years the ni fans have always created a partisan atmosphere even against the likes of azerbaijan.

Thought the atmosphere was fantastic, Ramos was been gently reminded by ironic jeering that he was having a nightmare. His face at times was a picture:D
How do you lose 3-0 to the 106th ranked nation & then beat the 7th ranked 4 days later?

ya if only the had beaten iceland 3 - 0 too.....would have been a great start for northern ireland. anyhow fair play to them.

I don't really mind losing my national team in any All-Ireland league merger.;)
Congrats to Northern Ireland, superb result.

i think pete, its the good aul counter-attacking game that can be played against hte bigger teams, but not necessarily the smaller teams.
