from Carlisle Utd site:

Summerbell meanwhile arrives on a free transfer from Premiership side Middlesbrough. He has signed a three-year deal. The 26-year old midfielder has made nearly 40 appearances in the Premiership for Middlesbrough whilst also having loan spells at Bristol City, Cork City and Portsmouth. Lack of pre-season training means his fitness is low and chances of actually starting this weekends tie at Lincoln City are slim although he may feature on the bench.

Of the many imports over the years i'll always remember Summerbell as bar far the worst. Seemed to he just came over here for a holidays as was a spectator in the middle of the pitch. Always amazed me he was getting on the bench & even playing for Middlesbrough.

He's welcome to them and they to him.
Carlisle had 3 players sent off, including that pr*ck Molloy, and their owner is alleged to have started a fight in the director's box, last weekend away to Lincoln.
Is playing for Carlisle better than playing for Shelborne?

I have never seen a match in that division, 3rd ?, but surely the standard in the eL is at least as good as, if not better, than there?..

is abysmal if the recent Bournemouth v Kidderminister game is anything to go by...

football and ref-ing standard are not the best - in between eL Premier and First

eL Premier equivalent to mid table 2nd Div sides IMHO having been to a few games over here

Facilities tho are EXCELLENT in Bournemouth in comparison to anything at home

So was Richie Foran, who was the other person involved in the fight... some things will never change :D

Fighing off people with his Director alongside him must have brought back memories of his previous club...

To the best of my knowledge, Summerbell only played 3 games for City anyway, and only 1 of them at the Cross. Therefore, to say he was City's worst player is ludicrous. Worst player  Ever hear of a waster called Jason Kabia

Who Kabia? Kabia scored 2 goals on league debut in 3-0 win over Dundalk - at that time looked like the messiah had arrived but he definitely peaked in that game & was all downhill from there.

Summerbell was one of the worse imports i remember as occasionally used to see his name in the paper & was always amazed he managed Premiership standard.

Who was the guy Richardson brought with Paul ????? Centre half who could not head the ball. Was either Damien's love child or lover 'cos there was no other reason to import him.

maybe you're thinking of David Mawson, a striker brought over from Sunderland I think, who played a couple of games and looked alright without finding the net, before scoring twice on his final appearance in a city shirt (away to home farm whatev-erthey-were-called-that-season I think)
