Just boarding the plane in 5 mins.

At baggage check in who was in front of me but none other than....


...RAY HOUGHTON.

We had a good chat, very friendly guy. I told him about the street sign being brought over. Got a pic with him on my camera phone too.

PS: youngirsish - on the subject of overpaid prima donnas - I asked him was he coaching at the moment. He said palace was his last job but they were impossible to teach. Spoily upstarts every one of them. He said the more you gave them the more they wanted. |He said they were all even given free cosmetic dental treatment (I think).

Anyway, meeting the hero of stuttgart last time out gives me real cause for optimism.

Friend of a friend works in RTE Sports says everytime Houghton is out with them, he ends up p*ssed singing "Who put the ball in the English net? I did, I did". Legend.
