anyone on the forum currently in Australia? If so what are your plans to watch the game? Ive been doing some travelling for the past 3 months and kick off for this one is gonna be 445am on the east coast of australia. It looks like the first game I'm gonna miss live since the famous 2-2 with the Dutch in Holland in 2000.

Also anyone know any good sites to get goals and footage after the event, except youtube.com?

Tks

I'm glad you asked; I'll be in Brisbane for the game and have been frantically looking up sports/Irish bars (or even a hostel) with Setanta; we're making a list and will be doing a ring around, but I doubt any will be open after 5 am.

Let us know if you hear anything!

I was in Brisbane a few years ago. A couple off the top of my head....Dooleys and Dicey Reilly's. I'll see if I can get a hold of my brother, who lives there, to see if we can help you out.

Edit: Just pm'd you JimmyP with some info.

$25 entry fee seems to be the norm for these things, I watched the Switzerland Fiasco at the celtic Club in Melbourne, 2am Kick Off when Ireland had played Romania in the Rugby at 3pm the same day, there were some serious casualties!
Wherever you go, get there early because they don't mind seeling tickets even when it's so full you'd need to be 7ft to see the screen!

Not sure on the rules in NSW & Queensland but in Victoria they stayed open all night:eek: . I'd give the closest venue a call and ask them what the story is.

thanks folks. yeah its the actual time its on at thats the main problem over here i'd imagine. I'm now in Mission beach in queensland and theres a few pubs across the road and i'd say i've no chance-however as luck would have it im on an internet terminal that is giving me free online access, dunno why, and its 24 hours so the clock will be set!!!
