Thoughts anyone?

Obviously very close, we could do without a replay but my head tells me it'll be a 1-1 draw.

BBC:

Derry City must get back to business after their Uefa Cup heroics when they take on Shelbourne in Sunday's Carlsberg FAI Cup clash (1830 BST).
Talk of Paris Saint Germain is dominating the Maiden City but any lack of focus among the Derry players is likely to be punished by Shels.

Pat McCourt is available after being unfit for 2-2 draw against Gretna.

Kevin Deery, Gary Beckett and Ciaran Martyn also may start after being rested in Thursday's Uefa Cup match.

However, Peter Hutton and Killian Brennan remain out for the Candystripes.

Colin Hawkins is fit to return to the Shels line-up but Jason Byrne remains sidelined because of a pelvic injury.

Eircom League leaders Derry currently lead Shels by a point at the top of the table so there is little to choose between the sides in domestic football.

To their credit, Derry have been able to focus back on domestic games after their European exploits so far this season and manager Stephen Kenny will be demanding more of the same.

Derry are unbeaten in their last 11 games and have claimed nine wins in the process.

I said at the start of the season that Derry would win the cup and I'm sticking with that prediction. I can't see this as a draw as both teams like to play attacking football. Derry to score three and win by a goal or two.

In the previous two meeting in Tolka this season we have had the better of you and with your current european run going on Id expect us to keep that going.

If the team who turned up in Dalymount plays you will win but otherwise Id go with a shels win, its just too hard to predict this curent shels team. When they play well they are so much better than everyone really but when they come out switched off they can look fairly poor.

Shels 2-1

RTE:

Shelbourne have defender Colin Hawkins fit again for this evening's visit of league leaders Derry City to Tolka Park for their FAI Carlsberg Cup third round clash, kick-off 6.30pm.

Hawkins returns after recovering from the back complaint that kept him out of Shels' first defeat in 14 domestic games at Bohemians last week, but top scorer Jason Byrne (groin) remains sidelined.

'It's the two form teams in the league going head-to-head, so it should be a good game,' said Shels boss Pat Fenlon.

Derry remain without Peter Hutton and Killian Brennan, while the 2-2 draw with Gretna, may rule him out again.

Ciaran Martyn, Kevin Deery and Gary Beckett, who all started on the bench on Thursday, are likely to return to the starting eleven

Has 0-0 as the score, then under Derry has Darren Kelly.

In the text he's scored twice and also Dillon sees red with a yellow card! All very confusing.

Think Gareth's locked :D

So Shelbourne's last ever FAI Cup campaign (let's face it - they'll be defunct after a certain date in October) ends with them being outplayed by Derry.

wp Derry - they'll now be installed (rightly) as favourites

Derry's march towards their second treble continues. It reminds me of the year Celtic reached the UEFA Cup Final. A season that promised so much in the run in delivered not a single trophy. I wonder how Derry will fare with fighting on so many fronts.

There was more Derry fans there than Shels I'd say. Crowd of about 1,300 I'd say. I know the Dubs where playing but youd think there would be a bigger crowd.

Shels were poor up front. Gary O'Neill looks to have lost that sharpness that he had. Missed Heary for sure.

Derry support was brilliant again. Those drummers are the best I have ever heard.

Where's Speranza when you need him,1300,he's as non-existent as supergretna and the crowd at tolka tonight. We had about 4500 at our game and live television and he said that it wasn't the tie of the round and nobody cared. He's funny,I'll give him that.

Poor enough game, Derry were knackered for last 30 mins but Shels didn't really do much with the possession. Ndo's heart must be broken carrying the rest of the team, he was their only real creative outlet.

Unfortunately Ollie conjured up a monsoon at fulltime (is there anything that man can't do?), having alerted the Shels fans 5 mins earlier who promptly left the ground and took shelter.

Still wringing myself out.......

1/4 finals of the FAI Cup, Semi finals of the league cup, top of the league, 1st round proper of the UEFA Cup...yeah I bet he's avoiding you like the plague.

It's that deal with the Devil! ;)

Shocking all round. Dire performance, had alot of ball - but did about as much with it as a 4 year old with no legs tied to a tree could have. We seemed afraid to put the ball into the box, opting instead to dance about the edge of the area - followed by spooning a shot, or passing to someone in red and white stripes!

Credit to Derry and their fans, more composed and effective on the pitch, and infinitely superior off it.

I'd hazard a guess he may have been at the game, and hasn't got the interweb in the car yet.

As for the crowd, an absolute joke, but we had about 55% of it.

Of the 1300 of those, about a few hundred were Shels fans. Absolutley pathetic considering they are second in the table and looking strong to rack up another Championship. There was just as much at the RSC last Friday night and we are rock bottom ffs.

Roll over Ollie and just **** off.

Shelbourne deserve to die for the careless and reckless carry-on that they have been doing for the last 10 years or so. Another Dub City in the making. The start of the slow death for Shelbourne started 3 years ago. The crowds and sums do not add up and there is only ONE direction for Shelbourne and that is to its inevitable slow and painful demise out in the wilds of Santry.

They bring nothing to the League only a few hundred pesky kids, overpaid mercenaries and a crook of a chairman who is loathed almost universally.

Unfortunate that the game wasn't at the Brandywell as Derry's cut of the gate is going to be half of nothing.

Was in the RSC this year. 4 fans singing and one banging a drum. The rest of you sit there like you're waiting for the athletics meet to start. The rest of you being barely half of the crowd we get on average.

Well done tonight. Your fans are stunning!! I can safely say best fans I seen in the league this year for sheer volume and support. Highlights will be available tomorrow but for now, the interviews:

Bizarrely, Shels would've done much better out of the game had it been in the Brandywell.

With the buzz round the town at the moment, we'd have had 3,000+ of our own at the game, plus the handful of Shels who made it up. So Shels would've got rouighly twice the income if it had been in the Brandywell, and the ultimate result on the pitch wouldn't have been any different for them !

You called! I am aware you Dubs aren't the brightest but when clubs are situated a few miles from each other it is easy to get a crowd. We had well over half the crowd IMO so slate the Shels fans and not us.

Shelbourne FC are an "off the streets" group for 200 Drumcondra teenage chavs but I am puzzled as to their value to professional football in Ireland. Dreadful/dire/horrendous crowd at at match against their title rivals and one which should see the winner life the cup but they can't get more than 600 - 700 fans. I wish clubs with a fanbase and hinterland like Sligo were fighting it out with us and not Ollie Bryne FC.

BTW In a futile attempt to make sure Shels were tax compliant I asked for a recipt or ticket when entering the ground only to be told "ya kin sit anywere shore"
