Three new teams for U21 league

The growing stature of the eircom under-21 league has never been more evident as three new teams are set to participate in this season’s competition.

Teams from Kerry, Mayo and the Garda will compete for the first time in the under-age league which begins on the week ending Sunday August 11.

The Kerry League and Mayo League will have representative teams participating, while the Garda under-21 side will also take part in the league and the under 21 executive, Pat Duffy, has expressed his enthusiasm over the arrival of the new sides.

"Both regional teams will be representative sides which is a major breakthrough because every county except Wexford will now have a team in the eircom League, which is a huge development. Garda are also a welcome addition to the league and will be very competitive," said Duffy.
