What if Peader had of compared my introductory post with the post I made in the hooligan thread, but instead of ridiculing my age he had of ridiculed my race... Would he not be banned instantaneously? Why the exception? Does Foot.ie condone bigotry?

It doesnt mention age.

If Peadar had referred to your race in the same way as he referred to your age, I think it would have been bigotry, and he would have been banned. But he didnt.

Having read the thread, I have to say I felt Peadar did nothing to warrant a ban, while your personal attack did break the rules.

Here is a site with many definitions of bigoted or bigot....none of them mention anything about discriminating by age.

I read the thread. Peadar said nothing bigoted and nothing to warrant a ban.

I think the points everyone is trying to drill home to you is
a)that its not bigotry to slag someone off cause of their age. b) even if it was then Peader wasnt guilty of it and c) given the fact you blatantly just outright abused someone you were lucky you only got a weeks ban.

I don't know what was said in the offending thread and I'll take the general view that Peadar didn't say anything bigoted. My point relates to the above definition - which I think does include bigotry basd on age. It refers to "group", which could refer to age groups. For example someone could be prejudiced against old people or young people. The definition above does not refer to sexual orientation and I think all would agree that intolerance of different sexual orientations is bigotry.
