Are you saying indicating that Rovers checked with the league whether he was suspended and they said no? Please let this be true....
Can't comment any further, it's one of the restrictions that comes with club ownership. ;)

This is all related to League rules.
Derry proved the League failed to comply with the 48 hour notification rule.
Surely if Rovers can prove that, or another relevant rule was not followed then they stand a good chance of succeeding in overturning the ruling?
Despite all the conjecture about fairness, etc etc there is very little on here about actually what the rulebook says.

Heard this story weeks ago and at that stage rovers knew they were in the wrong but now they are trying to ride on the coat tails of the Derry decision.
:D
Keep telling yourself that.

If Derry managed to prove this yesterday then why did Rovers not? It's not as if they weren't aware that this hearing was coming up.
Same old homeless. Always cheating.

i have no love of shams...but this is ridiculous...inconsistencies again.....last year we had a player who wasnt registered properly for the first few games of the season...we got no punishment.....you never know what these clowns will decide on

they may have informed CHF within 48 hours....
but as WaR says, none of us appear worried that we will actually lose 3 points. ;)

Oh grow up. How is it cheating when the league cannot do their job?? Always cheating? Give me one example.

Some facts
june 23 - Sheils sent off Vs DErry
june 26 - did not feature for DC Vs Drogheda
june 30 - did not feature for DC Vs Longford
July 8 - back for Sligo
July 14 - played Vs Shels
July 14 - disciplinary committee meetig, although they claimed to Derry it was the 21st
July 19 - DCFC resign from league, all players free agents
July 21 - claimed date of meeting - lie, as revealed by DCFC
July 22 - sheils signed for SRFCJuly 22 - Derry informed of Suspension, outside time limit, no notification to Sheils or SRFC
July 23 - Sub Vs dundalk
July 28 - Sub Vs Athlone
Aug 4 - did not feature Vs Galway
Aug 12 - sub Vs Kildare
Shiels sat out 2 games following his red card. The meeting on the 21st never happened as proved by Derry City. Rovers registered the player with no outstanding suspension. A suspension was handed down, no communication made to club or player, then 3 points were deducted.
I wonder does Mr Seery have a letter/email on his desk and waht date is on it? why would a suspension be sent on teh 22nd to a club that does not exist.

yeah we gotta stop scoring winners AFTER the regulation 90 minutes

Ignoring the points thing for a minute but do these two statements not scare the crap out of people. The new uper duper league that is going to be run by these people and yet they lie to the clubs involved etc. To me this is well scary and another indication of what is in store when the FAI have full control.

They wipe home farm's existence off the premier table with the points scenario and yet they wont wipe suspensions, completely contradicting themselves and secondly they never informed rovers and by the sounds of the above posts might actually have told them he wasn't suspended.Me thinks we'll be saying hello to our temporarily lost points very soon

they may have informed CHF within 48 hours....Was this when CHF were still in the League?
If it was then they seemed to have followed the rulebook. And therefore it was the players responsibility to notify his new employer.
If the notice was sent following CHF withdraw (to Rocky presumably), then surely the League don't have a leg to stand on?
The erasing bookings and sendings off involving CHF is a bit of a red herring. No precedent that I know of for doing this.

Surely this is not the first time a player with a suspension has been transferred before serving it.
Suspensions carry over between seasons so if a player is transferred in the close season it would effectively be the same situation as Shiels' when he joined Rovers.
What I'm saying is that there must be a precedent which sets out whether it's the new clubs responsbility to inquire or the leagues to pass on information about suspensions.

If you come on our bus to another game I'm going to get Big Dec to throw you over the hedges at the 1st p!ss stop. Ungrateful b@stard:D
Deduct 3 points fron Chelsea last year and do they care? Well, do they? well? well?
That would be a no. Rovers will be run away winners.

utterly rediculous
Derry get away with it because they wer not informed on time, rovers docked 3 points because they were not informed at all.
Nuts
I for one believe the F.A.I. decission was the right one. how ever one must ask to why the suspension of one player was not recieved on time from the disciplinary secretary of the Eircom League?
Question needs an answer.

Technically DC games weren't played, as technically (according to the table at least!) DC failed to even start the season. So they award an imaginary suspension, that could never have happened as the game is void (did not take place!), and possibly failed to inform the club and/or the player.
Rovers got shafted, from what I can make out anyways.
I agree with Chippie - it is very worrying that we've handed over our league to this bunch.
Rovers got shafted big time. Derry would have too but as everyone knows up here - you can't lie to a Derryman! Not too mention the place is full of solicitors. They won't be trying that again :)
Seriously though - they deliberately lied to Derry which could have cost them the top honour in domestic football. Or else, the forgot what week they had the meeting. Sweet Jeeezus. And they run the show! It is scary....very fecking scary.

The FAI claimed the meeting was on the 21st and notified Derry on the 22nd.
However they had actually held the meeting on the 14th, and didn't notify us till the 22nd.
Hence it was outside the timeframe.

Nah, he;s banned from the bus, commitee's decision is final! There'll be no appeals heard either!:)
