EL Weekly a must-see tonight, for the clip of the season starring Alan Kelly.
If you've seen the clip online already, seeing smirkers Osam and Scully trying to keep straight faces should provide its own entertainment.

Just found it -> http://www.bohemians.ie/BRAY%20-%20BOHS.wmv
Now if it was 0-0 at that stage when the goal was given there would have been mayhem :p

Look carefully at the referee's positioning. Absolutely perfect with no obvious obstruction when advanced frame by frame.
Should be restricted to reffing kids in the park, absolutely shocking stuff.

Try to imagine how poor old Devo feels. He's been shaving the posts with quality strikes for Bohs since he started, but had yet to score from play. Then he fires in a wonder goal of sheer perfection. Then Alan Kelly goes to work...

Yep, think so.
Unless it's like last week and 15 minutes late to cater for the Love Island audience...and since that's on until 11:35 on ITV, I presume it will be the same on TV3.
Bohs 'goal' is ridiculous, though I seem to remember the same thing happening with at Southampton's Dell a few years back...anyone remember?
The Stars
14/08/2006, 9:09 PM
ya remember that at The Dell.
It was a good 8 or so years ago but someone hit a shot, hit the advertising boards behind the goal and came out....no goal, play on was the decision.
the ref and linesman should be banned from the league for this.
iceman
14/08/2006, 9:25 PM
Kelly has to get a ban for that.....if he does'nt , well , we may as well all throw our hats at it. Disgraceful decision.
The scheduling of el Weekly is a disgrace. They had it down as 11:30 or something last week yet it wasn't on until 15 minutes later! Bloody irratating.

More irritating when they advertise it for 11.30 but it starts at 11.20! Makes me mad!

Not trying to be smart but why would they. The only teams they really talked about were those still with some shot at the title........though its starting to look like a two horse race at the moment :(

Now, now, you're not supposed to talk that way about our UEFA-accredited international-class refereeing golden boy. He'll be making errors like that in the World Cup one day!
As they pointed out on TV3 - how did he award a goal-kick:confused: Whatever about all the officials in the ground missing the ball going into the centre of the goal (the noise of the crowd made it look like a lot of spectators got caught out but still...!) the laws of physics would seem to dictate that the ball could not go wide and then bounce out to the penalty spot (or else he should have noticed the gaping hole in the net that it came through).
Young Kelly seems to make a habit of these howlers - it's almost 3 years since his team of officials awarded a blatantly offside goal in the cup final - yet still gets praised as 'the best ref in the league' etc. Wonder what his dad will put in his assessment for the game...?

Happy with last nights show. They showed our last 2 games!
But overall they should be showing all the premeir games especially as there is only 5 venues every week.
On the other hand not much point if sligo and Waterford do not have proper gantries..............

Look at the bigger picture. How are we going to seriously attract punters when they see games from sligo and waterford? It looks appalling. How can you not see that??
Put the camera facing the stand. The stands in sligo and waterford are great so why not show them?

I know what you're saying, but are you telling me, the camera pointing into a half empry stand in Tolka is a great crowd puller. Only the die hards wait up to see the ELW anyways, so the general public never see if the grounds are empty or full.

Actually agree with the sham here!
Although Tolka gantry is ****e, as you can't see the whole pitch, ie - when the goal scorer (can't remember if it was against Athlone or Kilkenny) was celebrating, he slid out of view, while still on the pitch.

True but its better than the old days when, on the very rare occasions rtengland showed up, a crane had to be used over the main stand looking at the empty riverside:eek:
