The FAI have seemingly changed the text on the Ireland Crest from 'FAIreland' to 'FAI' - all logos have been changed on www.fai.ie. Why it needed to be changed is beyond me but it's very annoying to have an amended crest so soon after a new kit release. Poor timing by the FAI in my opinion.

I'm sure some people won't be too worried but as an avid shirt lover who has ranted enough times over the lack of actual 'replica shirt' available on the market, this type of unneccessary changes just infuriates me even more.

I've ranted some more on this over on this post on my blog and you can view the two crests side by side here too - http://southterraceview.blogspot.com/2006/08/fai-make-changes-to-ireland-national.html

Apologies for the rant! :)

No worries; can't say I'm surprised at the vacillation. To paraphrase John Kennedy Toole, the FAI are "a confederacy of dunces".
