A goal mid way throught the second half by John O'Neill of Wayside Celtic was the only goal of the game last night. Rep Of Ireland 1-0 Englan. England were not up to much in a game played in terrible conditions. Fair dues to St. Michael's pitch which stood up to everything the weather threw at it.

Read the Star yesterday and it seems that current Manager Gerry Smith is to be replaced as his contract is up next year. He has been in the job for 13 years now but hasn't had much success in regards to silverware.

There are a few names mentioned to replace him next year....Just wondering if any of you out there rate any local managers to take this job!!!!:ball:

His name was in the paper as one to be Smiths replacement.
I wonder does he have his coaching badges.Apparently he is an oldschool
manager but at International level would need a few tricks up his sleeve.
Before it is said, i know what he has won at Fairview and maybe he could be the one to do the Junior job.:ball:

he has some coaching badges i think alright but if he was given the managers job i'd imagine he'd be given coaching staff too

Smiths signed a new contract last year, which will see him in the job until 2008. Bad reporting the AUL bugle, namely The Star

probably,i'm not sure but the point i was trying to make is that he wouldn't be coaching the team,he'd be the manager
