Whatever happened with the fanzine?
I think Galwaygirl was hoping to launch one at the start of the season.

There has been a few over the years...

SRO (Standing Room Only)
The Lost Tribe
Galway Independent
Tible Bible

Another one entitled the Galway United Echo Echo Echo was allegedly pulled on fear of a massive legal challenge and so it never saw light of day,

Fanzines are becoming reduntant in the age of the internet and can also serve to impinge on programme sales, which of course is a GUST project.

The GUFC match proframme is not a GUST project anymore. The Club are 100% in control of it.

The vast majority of those involved in the programme are GUST members, which shows how much the Trust are involved in the club in other ways than financial. Its a great position to in as opposed to the dark old days.

Ya, it was me who was looking to re-launch a gufc fanzine, but at this time
it doesnt seem like a good idea. the internet has all but killed off fanzines and
our low attendances dont help. if united are to be playing in the premier
division next year, the idea of a fanzine might become a reality
