No, he's saying Stu is 4 women with a tatoo of wings on the back of his neck and a British accent, whatever that is.

"Police say the four female suspects are all white, in their thirties, and approximately 5’4” and 200 pounds. The women were wearing short black dresses with high heels and no nylons. The SUV driver had a British accent with short blond hair and a tattoo of wings on the back of her neck. Another woman had longer, dark hair with red dye at the bottom."

I can see why he might have not wanted the attention.

First goal of the season against QPR, a trademark smash from outside the box, which is curiously no longer his trademark. Spot of luck according to BBC:

At last! First goal of the day and it comes from a stroke of fortune. A loose ball runs out to Darron Gibson 25 yards from goal, five QPR players charge out to block the shot but it hits one of them - Clint Hill - on the thigh to deflect horribly past Julio Cesar and in to the net. A deserved lead for Everton and QPR are in real trouble.

It's not even a matter of whatever reason. Gibson showed more than enough in the 2 friendlies before the Euros that he was a first choice midfielder. He had worked hard to get himself fit. He established his credentials, but they were ignored. That in itself was damming of Trap.
And we know now that Trap's waffly promises post Euros were just that.

I would never support Gibson's decision to stay away because the country's cause is bigger than Trap and even bigger than Gibson's ego.

It actually hit him on the chest/shoulder. But it looks like he may have hit his head on the post heading the ball. Also I think the bottle was aimed at a Galaxy player
but he emerged from out of the goal and took the hit.
That is apparently where the Dallas supports are do I doubt they would aim at their own player.

A few rash challenges. He got his yellow and soon after he clattered his body into the fleet-footed Walcott. The challenge was more awkward than malicious and he was found rooted to the ground when he should have pulled out. However, he was on his last warning and stayed on his feet for the rest of the game, making some decent blocks and interceptions. He was nutmegged by Carzorla in the box, it must be mentioned.

I saw the one that Wenger was on about. More clumsy than dangerous and malicious.

It's pathetic at this stage of Walcott's career though that he gets pushed off the ball so easily.

Yeah, I heard he's planning on getting married every year.

As far as we know the Gibson situation hasn't changed. He's not playing under Trap again. What do you expect a player who's getting married in the near future to be doing during their summer break? Why has this information suddenly made you come to that bizarre conclusion that he'd never return?

Fixer82

I think he'll definitely return when Trap goes.
With all the players Trap has fallen out with it was inevitable one or two would say they would not play under him again

Yes, but Trapp. knows too well how to 'not win friends'.

Gibson is wrong but you can also see why he did it.

Irwin3
28/05/2013, 10:39 PM
We'll see, we'll see.... by his own admission Gibson considers himself a "stubborn" bloke and perhaps he's happy with his decision and will now develop a "taste" for sitting out internationals and preparing for club duties instead... we've seen how Mr Ireland developed such a taste....

Maybe I'm just a hardline dinosaur but in my opinion it's unforgivable to decline your country in the way Gibson did... you can't mess about with "your" country like that I'm sorry....

I fail to see how him going on his stag holiday is going to be the end of his international career. He's been on holiday before... in 2010 and 2011 he pulled out of the summer internationals with injury. 2012 was a different matter altogether. Things probably would have turned out better if he had missed that one through injury as well. 5 weeks with Trap sent him into his exile and here we are.

Fair enough you're one of those hardliner folk. I just see it differently. There is a manager who picks the squad and team. If you have personal issues with this manager then it is possible that they could prevent a player from playing for him. Different issues and different players will react differently of course.

I'd say he will play for the new manager. Of course you could be right and we might never see him again, however I doubt it was because he went on holiday in May 2013.

P.S. S. Ireland and Gibson situations have very little in common. Mr. Ireland's absence is under vastly different circumstances, he would be nowhere near the squad on form and I doubt he's spent a whole lot of time preparing for club duties in the recent past.

DeLorean

Ireland and Gibson's situations might have little in common now, but they were very similar originally. Nobody really cared all that much when both players began their exile, but a (continued) good run at club level brought about a greater sense of loss amongst a decent percentage of the supporters.

Maybe you didn't care about Gibson's exile at the time but there are quite a few here who did care, even those who didn't have sympathy for his decision.

I still don't care to be honest. I meant the majority were less frustrated at the time than they are now, maybe I'm wrong on that score but I don't think so. Obviously that is natural enough anyway as the better he's performing at club level the more he's going to be missed. I was just making the point that himself and Stephen Ireland's situations weren't all that different, Gibson's exile is just at an earlier stage and his club football is currently perceived to be of a high standard, as Stephen Ireland's once was.

Stuttgart88
04/06/2013, 3:06 PM
I think Gibson is a class act and would enhance our team. Given how many of last years fringe players are now regulars I think it's fair to say that Gibson would have had a very decent chance of having started most of this campaign, possibly even in place of Trap's beloved Glenn Whelan.

They are completely different.

Ireland retired because he didn't feel like playing anymore. He even had Trap and Brady begging for him to come back. He informed them that he would let them know when he wanted to return.

Gibson's issue is with the current manager. It is a personal issue between two 'personalities'. Arguments, insults, disillusionment, stubbornness and here we are.

By the way, Gibson was the form midfielder going into the euros and imo still is (argument can certainly be made for McCarthy). Any sensible person knew from looking at our midfield options that his exile was a big loss. I'm not sure that the amount of people bemoaning his absence has increased at all. I'd say it's about the same level as it ever was.

DeLorean
04/06/2013, 4:21 PM
The situations may be a bit different in that Stephen Ireland didn't seem to want to play with the other players (talks of bullying, etc.) and Gibson doesn't want to play for Trap. Agreed.

I just meant in terms of how they are/were performing at club level.

Gibson was arguably the form midfielder in the couple of months before the Euros at club level but certainly shouldn't hadn't have considered himself a shoe-in for game time in my opinion, given his contribution to qualifying, etc. Anyway that's been discussed to death. He quite possibly would be a shoe-in by now if he hadn't thrown his toys out of the pram but, alas, they're the choices we make.

Personally I just see the guy as being the complete opposite of an Irish player should represent in terms of attitude. We may be missing out on a talent but I wouldn't be too upset about it. I'd imagine he'll be back in the fold post-Trap though.

Irwin3
04/06/2013, 4:47 PM
I hate this toys out of the pram stuff to be honest. It's more than just not playing, it's personal. I don't think Gibson cared if Trap wanted to make him first choice and captain after the euros. It's a moot point. He clearly doesn't want to work with him anymore.

I think he has a great attitude from what I've seen of him. He's a definite hard-worker and leader on the pitch. I don't know what you're basing that comment on. If a manager verbally insults a player then I think they'd be perfectly entitled to consider whether or not they wanted to play for him again. You would then be entitled to question their stubbornness perhaps, but to question their attitude, gimme a break.

In every walk of life you'll come across bosses, colleagues, etc that you don't get on with from time to time. Grown ups tend to plough on and try to make the most of it. And I'm including rubbish jobs at times that you probably hate doing in the first place, Gibson's turning his back on something the rest of us can only dream of. Sorry but I can't see any explanation other than petulant egotism.

I work for my manager for a start. There is usually a level of direction from Top-down.

But if I were representing my country, work sounds something like a chore to me. It would be an honour and I would do whatever is necessary and I am told to do by my manager - just like I would at work.

Irwin3

What did Gibson not do that Trap told him to do? Where are you coming from with this?

We are talking about a manager disrespecting and leveling personal insults at one of their workers. The worker has decided enough is enough and will not work with this manager again.

It's not on the record as far as I know. Some kind of altercation after the Spain game after Gibson confronted Trap. Trap also apparently grabbed him in training and said he was too fat or something. More was hinted at from the friend of a friend on ybig. This is not just about not playing although it plays a part. Playing Green when he was Trap's 6th choice cm pre-euros took the **** and from the outside looks like someone stamping their authority and proving a point.
