It's a bit of a strange decision to take the captaincy from Distin but great news for Dunne.

Distin has not signed a contract I think, that is why Dunne has got the job, from what I know but could be wrong on that.

The official line from Eastland was that this allowed Distin to "concentrate on football issues". Dunne was vice captain and captained the side in Distin's absence last season, so it was really no great shock

Yeah, delighted for Dunne, but it's not really a shock decision considering he was vice captain.
