Ex-Middlesbrough striker Tommy Jones will join up with the Drogheda United squad for a friendly match with Bluebell United this weekend.

Manager Harry McCue was delighted with the Drogs start to the season but still wants to add to the squad. "I still feel that we need a bit more depth in our squad," explained the 45 year old McCue who celebrated his birthday on Monday.

"We were missing a few for the Derry match but still did very well. However, in the Premier Division you have to have a big squad with quality throughout."

Most of United's injury worries have cleared although Mark Dempsey remains a big doubt and may not be risked with such a heavy schedule ahead. Over the coming weeks the Drogs play Shelbourne, St. Pats and Cork City with an FAI Cup match as well.
