just got it and its haunting, amazing that a man on his death bed could produce work like this, its better than most artists can do in their prime.

Bought the book "The Man Called Cash" a few days ago, only getting started but seems to be a good read.

its funny how an artists death can automatically arouse interest. why wasnt there such interest in this person before his death.

btw im not saying ye two boys are like this, but the last few months it just seems everyone is tlaking to him as though he only started producing good music in the last few years......8)

i spose walk the line also had a very well timed release also.

I always liked his music but I do admit I really got into it after watching the film.It gave a great insight into the real life of Johnny Cash and you can relate to some of the situations he experienced in his life, that is why I took a real interest in him,not only his music, but his life.

"Walk The Line" was already in Pre-production long before he died. He in fact approved of the idea as far as I know.

True.
Hosted Joaquin Pheonix on his ranch.
To be fair i think he was reknowned as a legend before the oul death.

i was a fun of most of the sun records artists, i got the ambum also and i love the version of "if you could read my mind". I've got a lot of his stuff over the last 10 years or so since U2 did the wandrer with him.

The last 2 albums have been really top notch, less country and more songs he liked such as personal jesus ( great version ), but my fav has to be desporado ( spelled wrong )

Ya desperado is a slow simple, yet powerful song. From the "American VI:When a man comes around" album.

My favourite song of his is "I Hung My Head" from the same album.A direct and a song full of meaning for many different situations, not just the obvious.

I know this, but it was changed and edited when he died, my point however was its release and when it was timed ;)

Saw Walk The Line last week, thought it was great. Downloaded some Cash with the last of my AllofMP3 credit.

Funny how you slowly move towards "easy listening" music as you get older, isn't it? I have to listen to a little Celtic Frost every now and then to make sure I don't drift off into Sound of Music collections and beige trousers.

it is adam.
i remember when i was younger,my Uncle loved all the "old" musicians like Elvis and Cash and never nderstood how they peolpe could listen to it.
Now I cant get enough of them, including Christy Moore.I guess its because you can understand what they went through,or what the are singing about.

How true. When I was 13 or 14 I bought a Technics stereo system. Came home early one Saturday and my Dad was jammin' to.................Johnny Cash. I was so mad I couldn't see straight. Johnny Cash 'butchering' my speakers. How times have changed.

For those of you not familiar with Jonny Cash's earlier work I'd recommend the Folsum Prison and San Quentin albums.
