Saw this on the Limerick forum (http://www.foot.ie/showthread.php?t=36965) and decided to steal it for here. What nationalities have played for Rovers over the years? I'm too young to remember from years ago but(I'm sure some can) from the current/most recent squad we have/had:

Irish,
Barbados,
Bosnian,
Scottish,
English,
Dutch,
Northern Irish,
Australian,
American,
St Vincent's,
Bolivian,
South African,
Austrian,
Moroccan,
Nigerian,
New Zealander,
Welsh.

Hungarian= Albert Streka

He was Austrian, scored a famous penalty in the last minute against Shams in the cup in the Fifties. The crowd all came on the pitch encroached around the penalty area just in case he missed! There is a great photograph of it around somewhere.

Think I might have seen it on the web somewhere. The Champion will have it in their archives.

Yeah but he was born in Bradford in Yorkshire - I doubt he's got an Indian passport

Italian - Rafael Cretaro (well he's qualified to play for Italy - betcha Zidane wouldn't headbutt him)

BTW Kevin Fallon isn't from New Zealand - he's English now living in NZ.

BTW2 I'm led to believe that I was among the now 128,427 people who were in The Showgrounds when Straka scored the penalty.

I think you'll find that it was actually 129,000+ (they stopped counting when they reached that nice round figure...) :D

Well, Raf is more Italian than Tony Cascarino was Irish.
