I think the number of matches is catching up on is. And there are more problems ahead.
We've played six games in 19 days since the break, and we have four games over the next two weeks as well, as we play Cobh in the MSC next Tuesday and Leeds the following Tuesday. With such a small squad it's hard to maintain that. I suppose Lester will get a break with his suspension after last night.
We have to get the u-21s out for the Leeds game - at least for a half - and key players like Paddy, Tommy, Robbie, Kiely, Rose etc will have to be rested for the MSC game.

This is what happens when a squad is not big enough or when the manager is afraid to give the younger players a go. Surely costello, bourke, guerin even ryan could do a job every now and then and give the first team players a rest.
Also Finny could have been used to give one of the centre halves a rest last nite.

Ah Yes !!! Finny would have been right handy last night. Better Player than Kiely any day of the week.
But as last season showed us Noel o'Connor knows best

Lads,
In fairness the big problem is the success we've had this season. We have extra matches because we are still in competitions. I, for one, do not want to see these u-21 players in league games. The team we have played consistently is the best team available and you don't throw in young fellas to give them experience in the league or even IMO league cup. The friendly and MSC is different.
Guerin has already been given a chance and is a member of the first team squad. He scored the winner in the cup up in Drogheda.

Well beaten last night. Dundalk were just physically stronger without being dirty.
Maybe if we'd got to half time it would have been different i nthe 2nd half.
Heff was our best player and Derek scored within seconds of coming on and looked sharp.
I'd blame Noel Mooney for the first 2 goals.
I thought the referee was poor and inconsistent but not his fault we lost. Gave awarnign to a Dundalk guy for kicking the ball away and a minute later booked a Limerick player for the same thing. Took dogs abuse from a Dundalk player who wouldn't even go back for his talking to and no yellow card. Gave John Lester what appeared to be a straight red for backchat after disputing his booking - appreciate we don't know what Lester said but the Dundalk guy made a fool out of the referee stood there with his back to him for 15-20 seconds as the ref kept calling him back.
Still not the end of the world. Oriel Park is rarely a happy hunting ground for us. We're still top but need 6 points out of 6 now before the Galway game.

I second that, Finny is a quality player and if NOC had given Finny a chance we would be talking about giving him a rest
