Great Result. Here's my opinion on how they rated:

Gough 7 Could performance. Played a few more short balls and important save in second

Keane 6 Played well and deserves place in nextgame.

Frawley 7 Won headers and tackled well all night.

Clery 8 Another rock solid performance at the back.

reilly 6 Played well and deserves place in nextgame.

O Brien 7 Excellent first half. got opposite number booked with a mazy little run into the centre. Quiet second half but worked hard.

Harty 6 Not the best night. Looked a bit tired.

Rojas 6 1 or 2 nice bits of play but got lost for a lot of the game.

Cooke 9 Excellent performance. Won the penalty and made numerous runs down the wing and passed the ball around well. Man Of the Match.

Moran 5 Another poor performance. Gave up on every ball that was more than 2 feet away.

Murphy 8 Slow start but when got going was excellent. Superb finish on the first(quite checky as well) Held up ball well and good set pieces.

Subs
O Dowd 7 Ran his arse off. played some good passes. Very unlucky not to score after great control and turn on the volley shot near the end.Should start ahead of moran for next game.

Foley 7 Came on and settled things down in midfield. Played simple passes and got stuck in. Should never have been booked.

Keady 5 Came on near the end in midfield. Certainly not his position turned his back on play alot.

Overall performance. 7 Played well. Some v good individual performances, spirit still loks a bit down but should be quite prowd of result.

A good performance from GUFC, badly needed. Results went well for us tonight, we are still only six points off the top of the table with 20 games to go.

against a very strong physical Cobh Side.It was a strange feeling afterwards bu a good one. Murph had easily his best game this season and his 1st goal was class and Cookie was on fire but Billy really personified what we need from now till november and is playing his best football for years.

We need to follow this up with a run of victories to eat into Limericks lead as they have lost 3 of their last 4 and we play them in Terryland on the 28th and still have to play them in Rathbane in the back game.

Its great to able to smile on the morning after a game so lets have some positive posts today and well done to Tony on the first of hopefully many wins this season.

I think Tribesman 78 was a bit harsh on Barry. He has just come back from injury and I don't think he's fully fit. Some of the balls to him were a little bit further away from him from where I was sitting. But I'd agree that Dowdy would have to start next game at least til Barry is 100% again. Remember he is top scorer this season. GUFCT sums it up with his comment on Billy. He ran after everything as did dowdy he challenged every time and up front as much as he was in the backs. Plus Frawley put in a dinger silent but effective manner. Roll on Kilkenny.:) :) :)

Have to agree with the comments, Clery was excellent, and Frawley was excellent as well.
When the midfield were struggling Frawley often pushed up and intercepted the danger.

Good to see Keane at right back, no nonsense defending
and the same from Reilly.

Bit of a panic near the end when Keady came on in the centre, with Rojas struggling at this stage there was no other alternative, it was not Keady's natural position so it was a tough job for him.

Dowdy put in a great effort and Murph's showed glimpses of his old magic
and may it continue.

Billy's been outstanding in every game I've seen. This was a great result but we must follow it by at least four points in our next two games.

no 1st teamers are involved this evening as the last thing we need are injuries after our recent spate of them.

What Night are we playing monaghan Friday or Sunday anyone know.

The timing of this friendly could seemingly not be worse, from a financial/playing viewpoint.
