Not going to follow the post format above as most of my answers are already covered in existing posts.

However, I think a special mention for Essien. He wasn't the best player nor a player I hadn't heard of, but I thought he was absolutely brilliant in the group stages for Ghana, and it could have been a bit different in the last 16 game against Brazil had he played.

I can't say he's done anything to particularly impress me at Chelsea, probably due to limited appearances and a less free role when he does play, but his performances in the WC were a pleasant surprise for me.
