George will not be sold to an eL club.
what you gonna do ?
Pay him to sit in the stands for the next 12 months until he can talk to EL clubs ??
and whats he doing talking to other clubs then if he wont be sold to them?
You cant be too fussy who you sell your best player to when you have a big tax bill to pay :D

Have the money for the tax bill so not a problem......everyone in the club is hoping its resolved so sitting in the stands til it is is likely. He'l get bored, apologise, Rico will stroke his ego and itl all be worked out.
Could be a fairly interesting midfield merry go round coming up. Fahey rumoured to have fallen out with Drogs. Drogs long time admirers of Ndo.
O'Callaghan to Shels, Ndo to Drogs, Fahey to Pats anybody?

McCourt is entertaining but end product is lacking. Team-mates don't seem to know what he going to do next so can't anticipate where the ball will end up.
Paddy has had more goal assists this season than any player at the club,so your end product remark is incorrect.

Yeah Fahey defo on his way out, although i'm not sure if he would go back and work with McDonnell again after getting rid of him last season.

Doesn't matter if he talks to other clubs or not, its not his decision. Lennox doesn't have to sell him no matter what he wants. And by most accounts he was put on the transfer list he didnt ask to go on it.
I dont think there's much backing down involved on the clubs side tbh. They have shown him they aren't afraid to put him on the transfer list so its in everyones best interests that its sorted. No one wants him to go if it can be sorted

Which brings me back to my original point!
Its not his decision to be sold yet Cork want rid of him.
He is talking to EL clubs and cork will receive offers!!
Are you saying Cork will turn down every offer from an EL club and wait that some english club comes in for the biggest whinger the league has ever seen ?
As I said you could be watching him sitting in the stands for the remained of his contract if your holding out that long.
He will go to an EL club.
Cork have used that line before to keep the fans happy and it seemed to work so they tried it again and guess what it seems to be working.

If he's not being played he can argue that Cork are stopping him from working and he will have to be let go. Cork will not pay him and not play him. So basically if O'Callaghan wants out, he'll go and Cork will accept the best offer they can get.

Were obviously seeing this from different perspectives.Honestly i don't think he will go but i do think the club would try to avoid selling to an EL club. Selling your best player to opposition is stupidity.
So i think they would wait(a reasonable amount of time) for a foreign club to come in

In that case anoyone on the subs bench can make the same claim. once we're paying him I don't see how that could happen

They can make that claim but obviously most on your bench know they won't get better elsewhere. GOC would obviously think he could.
And its happened elsewhere

Really?
Id have thought if your contract didn't explicitly state you'd be getting first tam action you wouldn't have a case...you'd still technically be working, training etc.

To complete the circle, Anto Murphy to Cork - Everyone's a winner! :D
Cork have told one el club he'll cost 50K
Which club is this?

its not a football thing, its an employment thing. If an electrician is employed as such but confined by the company to doing the paperwork associated with his job (that he has to do anyway) He can sue as they are denying him his right to work.
I'm not saying its going to happen btw, I'm just making the point that if GOC wants out it'll more than likely happen and it'll more than likely be to an el club

But surely his job description is to play football, which he will be doing in training etc. As i said if its not explicitly stated in his emplyment contract that he would be playing matches i don't see how it applies.
I see your point though but i disagree with it probably being an EL club

He can argue that training is "ongoing development" and of course he's being denied the right to earn playing/winning/scoring bonuses...

As is every other sub in the coutry who could probably get regular football with another team.....those are bonuses not his wages
If you don't turn up for traing then you are not available for "work".
Its hilarious the amount of rival fans who give George stick but ye all seem to be very happy your club would be making an effort to sign him.
This will be sorted in a matter of days. George & Rico will kiss & make up before the weekend is over...

Well d'uh. Nobody ever slags the shioite players. Except for Dan murray obviously

dodge, that logic does not stand up, he has a contract at Cork, he cannot speak to any other club until the last 6 months of his contract without Corks permission, fullstop.
If an EL club offer Cork enough cash and GOC accepts the personal terms Cork will sell. Everyone has a price.

The key is enough. The price they'd accept from an EL team would be higher than what theyd loo for from a foreign club IMO.
Doesn't matter anyway cos he's not leaving

Already well documented that we don't have the funds to sign anyone, sure Nutsy said it in an interview within the past week or so. But to fuel the fire... I saw him in Tolka earlier... ;)

Having no money to sign players does not rule out swaps ;)
O'Callaghan is a class act and would be an asset to any club on this island. I am going purely on football ability here due to my limited knowledge of other things about him. On McCourt I would agree with what others have said on the few times I have seen him. When playing against Linfield in the Setanta Cup he beat players for fun and was awesome at times but with the exception of winning the penalty he never really hurt us. Exceptional talent but does seem to lack an end product from what I have seen.
