O’Flynn faces fitness race
Cork City striker John O’Flynn faces a race against time to be fit for his side’s Uefa Champions League clash with Cypriot champions Apollon Limassol next week. O’Flynn, City’s top scorer with six league goals this season, was replaced in the first half of his side’s Premier Division victory over UCD on Friday night last.
And a leg muscle injury could keep him out of the Champions League opener at Turners Cross next Wednesday night (July 12th). Manager Damien Richardson remains hopeful that the former Irish under-21 star can return to fitness, possibly even in time for the eircom League meeting with Longford Town this weekend.
