So who has signed who?

Cork City have so far signed:

Cathal Lordon(Ipswich)
Brian O'Callaghan(Notts County)

2 or 3 more signings expected.

any other tranfers around the league? Limerick are supposedly signing Conor Sinnott from Reading on Loan

I cant believe a club as mismanaged as Cork who have a winding up order against them are buying players ;)

Thats madness isnt it and only going to upset the UCD fans...

Cant see the City deal going through , other clubs that had tax problems in the past had an embargo slapped on them.

UCD have signed Patrick Kavanagh from Wayside Celtic. I think he's a right winger between 20-22 and was an ex-Bohs U-21 released in 2004. He scored on his debut for our U-21s and then scored his senior debut in the win over Waterford last week.

Cork City signings are free transfers. Our total debt isn't in the multiple millions.

Never said it was Pete , but the FAI/EL has set a precedent , and Im prerty sure that until the tax thingy is sorted an embargo will be put in place , cant be seen to treat one club one way and another differently.

Those registrations still have to be accepted by the FAI. There's a possibility that they may not be sanctioned unless Cork City give certain assurances - just like Drogheda United.

UCD scholarship trials are on next week, I think. We usually snap up a few players there, though more than likely, they won't affect this year's squad that much.

Lordan has already signed on an amatuer contract and played. Don't think there will be a problem with O'callaghan if the bill is paid this week as Lennox has said

When Drogs were in tax trouble a few years ago they were not allowed sign new players till they were tax compliant - they also had to lodge €400k with the FAI - NO GRACE PERIOD.

Eamon Zayed going to the Drogs. Doolo also looking at Tony Grant.

Iceman - we had to lodge €100k not €400k but everything else you say was true. We had a week to lodge it our we were out. I think the transfer embargo lasted a bit longer

Word around suirside this morning is that Alan Reynolds is returning back to the blues and also Jamie Harris is coming with him !!!
The club has also signed 4 new players, 1 argentinian striker, 2 czech midfielders and 1 Ghanain, heard they were very impressive in training yesterday !! No Joke, looks like kerley will be staying too  !

Reynolds is playing regularly for us. And Harris has just come back from injury. We're going to challenge for the league andI mean no offence by this, but why would they want to go to a team that will clearly struggle all season?

Who said CCFC were not tax compliant? Was that embargo ever enfocred on another club?

At the moment we kinda innocent until proven guilty. If CCFC fails to pay the bill and company wound up THEN there may be issues with signing new players but think that would be the least of our worries then.

Reynolds you can have and I wouldn’t be surprised if he went as he has managed you in the past and is well down the list of midfielders at shels. He has played recently but Moore Stuey Crawford Ndo and Greg would be ahead of him when they are fit.

Harris must be unhappy he is out of the team when he is better then some of the players in the first 11 but with all due respect to Waterford I think Harris could easily find a club higher up the league table.

Given the history of loan deals in recent seasons between Waterford and Shels I could see him going on loan as he has been injured for a good while and as your at a different end of the table to us it would only help us if he was part of a team that took points from the other clubs while he sits it out for our games.

When we are knocked out of europe I can see one or two players going in some direction.

Thats putting it mildly

Who said CCFC were not tax compliant? .

The revenue have obviously decided that Cork City are not tax compliant. That is why they have issued you with a winding up order.

If you were tax compliant do you think they would do that:confused:

Drogs had better sign some player quick before their tax details are made public.

Drogheda didnt have an embargo put in place until tehy paid their taxes, they had an embargo put in place until they reinstated the company and directors who had run up the bill and who held the league membership. Going bust setting up a new company and leaving the debts with the old company will not be tolerated any longer. And rightly so - witness Rovers examinership.

Corks winding up order is the Revenue twiting arms to get their cash, which I'm sure they will. Point is they are now playing hardball, which should see clubs run properly. Which makes you wonder how long Drogs can continue to hoover up players and expand their wage bill and where in the name of God did waterford find moeny for 4 international signings, accomodation, wages, travel costs....

I'd say this will be a pretty quiet window with a lot of loan signings only

Jamie Harris was offered to Pats by Shels. (believe it LeixllipRed) We've made bray/Zayed an offer and it was accepted by both Bray and himself. More likely to go to Drogs though.

Which is why I'm glad to get this out in the open with regard to Cork City FC. It means we can go forward with a clean bill of health from the RC and hopefully stay tax compliant. We've all known for years that LoI clubs weren't being run like a professional business. At least now we can hopefully address that issue.

Please provide the source for this as was demanded when the Cork story broke last Friday night.

Or are we likely to see the Cork old boys network swing into action again, with one set of rules COrk and one for the rest of us.

To answer the previous question about reynolds coming back to the blues, it seems he is gonna take the redundancy package from waterford crystal as he still is down as an employee, but he must work for a few more months to make up the time in order to qualify for the package so as far as i can gather thats why he has to come home and he still wants to pay football so i think i a deal has been done to get him back at the RSC.
Thats the gen on the streets down here today, hope that answers ur questions ?
