the draw for the 1/4 finals will be held in dublin on tuesday .is ucd the team to beat with 22 goals from two matchs, cork who beat peamount or is it raheny who have yet to play ?????
the mayo and galway leagues cant be ruled out either! they both had good wins on sunday. although raheny do have a lot of internationals!! should be very interesting quarter final draw..

Gonna be some very entertaining games in the quarter finals. Wouldn't write Wilton off, i think they cleaned up in the Cork League and cups this year. Definetly the tie of round has to be Raheny and UCD... that's a hard one to call, local derby game reckon it'll be a case of who wants it more on the day!
Galway and Benfica, could go either way. Lifford and Cork, cork certainly took a scalp by beating peamount last weekend but wouldn't write lifford off, they're well organised side

Hmm, true UCD came out on top in the league.... then again - Raheny pulled it off in the cup against UCD before.... :) I think it'll really just come down to it on the day... Is it a home game for Raheny?

As has been said before the game can take place on or BEFORE the date.
If UCD and Raheny want to play the game this weekend for example or next, there should be no problem.

Galway and Benfica, could go either way.
I would like to 100% endorse that assertion. Benfica play in the Dublin Women's Soccer League Premier Division in the summer and also field a team in the Wexford and District Premier Division in the Winter ,where they are the current reigning League and Cup holders. Galway's best chance really depends on which Benfica players decide to make themselves available for the game. If they turn up without their current Senior and Under 19 international players and certain key performers in one or two other sectors of the team, then Galway will have a great chance of winning. If however their best 11 turns up it could be a rough ride for the home side. However as the players alluded to earlier have not always been available , Galway have a great chance.

Ok for all of you wanting to see the "real" Cup final.
UCD take on Raheny in Belfield at 7:15 ( I think) on Wednesday October 25th 2006 in the W.F.A.I. Senior Cup Quarter-final.

think some of you undersetimate Wilton, they have trained all summer long and are very fit, they are after winning the league and two cups in Cork. They were un beatable this year. Cork League barely scraped by Peamount and will have a tough game v Lifford!!! Any confirmation of UCD v Raheny, that will be a good one, as will all games. Any other games on before the play by date?:) :ball: :ball:

I take a good Wilton team to beat the Mayo League.
The Limerick League team had a bad day at the office in the last round. They were missing their goalkeeper (first 3 choices were not available for selection) and a contingent from Mungret Regional who were having a ball in Brussels at the time.
One of the Mayo forwards scored 6 goals in a 7 nil victory. OK she may be a good player but she won't be given the freedom of the pitch like she was given in Hogan Park.

Wilton defenders will handle her, eventhough she is quick the Wilton defenders are very stong and solid, it will be difficult to get past them. What about Galway and Benfica. not much being said about them. Galway to win anyway I say.

it is the mayo defenders that have to be on guard with wilton they have won league and cup in cork.mayo are a bunch of players that only play together a few times a year so will not be as good as corks wilton that play week in week out and know each other very well. mayo are the away team will not know the pitch will have to stay away from their own beds on saturday and rush back for college on sunday night.the big match is ucd and raheny on wednesday 25th winner will go a long way in irish cup.

The winners of the W.F.A.I. Senior Challenge Cup, this year , will have earned the right to represent Ireland in the Women's UEFA Cup next autumn. The expense of this venture is €30,000 approx for teams entering. There is a small amount of grant aid available from the F.A.I. but a lot of fund raising will need to happen between now and then.

Ya I saw the game, expected more from Benfica to be honest. Cork created the better chances but to be honest getting to the semi's kinda flattered them as they didn't play as a team. Very much 11 individuals
