I'm going to put the full wording of the letter up later on this evening so that everybody can be aware of how they allocated the tickets. We'll just have to find a new family known as the "football family":confused:

The SFA have a points system and you get a point for every away game. You have to pick your tickets up at a hotel so you cant just apply and not go. It is stupid that someone could not go to any away games but fancies a trip to Germany now and can get lucky in the lottery ahead of someone who goes to all the home and away games. As I said I am not bitter as I have my 2 tickets from Eventm and anyway I am sure there are least 5,000 people more deserving than me who could have got tickets but this sytem should be put in place as it rewards loyalty and effort for the away games.

totally agree - BB since Kerr took and I got the letter there this morning. Luckily I have 3 tickets from German site but I feel for lads who have been to more away games than me and who migh be left short for this game.

The FAI have no motivation to introduce such a scheme as once demand outstrips supply they will always sell. Why introduce more paperwork when they can allocated them with a more simplistic system?

I'm sure they aren't too concerned who the tickets go to once the credit cards process.

Surely a well worded letter from disgruntled loyal fans would be the way to go firstly to see what response the FAI have. Make the suggestion to them, see what they say.

I can't imagine having the 'The Star' championing your cause is any benefit to anyone. I'd imagine the only thing 'The Star' would be successful in putting pressure on is your tolerance levels for bad journalism.

Still don't see how The Star, or any national newspaper could change things. You need a will to want to change and personally from years of experience with the FAI I don't think it's there.

Did you read the whole letter ? I thought it was a PFO as well until I looked at the third last paragraph :eek: when it mentions I got 2 tickets

I refer to your ticket application for the above fixture.

Due to the extensive number of people wishing to travel to this fixture and the limited allocation of just 5,000 tickets, which is our 10% entitlement as per FIFA rules, we were not in a position to meet full demand. The fixture was oversubsribed by more than twice the number of tickets we received.

We have made a special request to the German FA for an additional allocation of tickets; however, we have yet to receive a reply to this request.

Before these tickets could be allocated to the various sectors of the game the FAI had contractual obligations and committments to sponsors, partners, squad members and our official travel agent.

The remaining tickets were distributed between members of the football family and those individual holding a block booking at Lansdowne Road. Due to the highlighted shortage of tickets all individual block bookers were entered in a draw. As in previous situations where a draw was necessary the method used was to include each name once in the draw for every two tickets held on the block booking for home games at Lansdowne.

Unfortunately on this occasion your name was not drawn resulting in you not being allocated tickets for this fixture.:(

We appreciate your disappointment. However, as with all away games the number of tickets we receive is not within our control.I have enclosed the cheque/draft/postal order providedwith the original application. Any credit card numbers provided have not been debited. Your details will be kept on file in the event that additional tickets become available at any stage and a second allocation takes place.

there was a breakdown given in the papers for our 3,200 allocation for basle 1 when 16,000 applied for tickets. from memory about 1,200 went to blockbookers

it doesnt look like much of a ticket..has anyone else got one of these ones
but the german fella gave me all his address, email, phone number, bank account details and he had a good ebay rating so im not so worried
the ticekt looks like a concert ticket you would get from ticekt master

anyway i only need one now on the waiting list

Myself and fellow members of the West Belfast ROI Supporters Club are finding it difficult to obtain tickets. Knocked back by Fai and they are going for a fortune on ebay (average of 140 euro per tickets). Our flights and hotel are booked long ago, so we will still go and have a ball with or without tickets but if my name could go on the list it would be great (1-12 tickets pleeeasse)
