It looks like Liverpool will be signing Craig Bellamy for £6.5 million according to reports. This is a good move IMO, he's really improved over the last 18 months and represents good value for money at that price.

I think he's similar to Cisse only I rate him a lot better than him and he's costing less than half what he did. Obviously his personal reputation isn't great but I haven't heard anything bad about him recently, not since he left Newcastle anyway and I'm sure he'd be put in his place pretty quickly if his ego got out of hand at Anfield.

Signed, sealed and delivered. Now for Kuyt and Alves.

He was polished at Celtic Park, remember that.

Given his ill-discipline his "reserve" will get plenty of games during Bellamy's multipe suspensions during the season!

5 yellow cards last season= 1 suspension.

He usually has that many red cards in a season

He has been red carded 4 times in his career, the last been in 2002. He averages around 6 yellows per season.

Anyway, I think it will be a good signing for Liverpool and it's good to see that he has got another chance to play in Europe.

Bellamy is a fantastic player. If I was a Liverpool fan I wouldn`t be a bit worried about his discipline, the only manager that I know of that he had a run in with was Souness and hes hardly the first to have a run in with him:rolleyes: I know in his 5 months at celtic he was nothing but a positive influence

I`d be more worried about his injuries then his discipline

As a Liverpool fan I'm not at all happy with this signing.
Bellamy is bad news, court appearances, arrogance and all round bad attitude.

The lad has talent but he will not start every week at Liverpool and i'm not all that sure he'll be happy with a place on the bench.

We'll see.

Fantastic signing, proven premiership goalscorer and for only £6m. Brilliant bit of business. His past is in the past and I find it quite stupid you mention it, given the brilliant trouble free season he had last year at Blackburn, where he wasn't clashing with a terriblr man manager and Alan Shearer's ego.

I'd say he'd start more than most. Far better striker than liverpool currently have on their books

Problem is he's half crocked, he averages just less than 25 games a season, therefore he's an expensive signing at best for Liverpool, though not as much as Owen would have cost them (£1/4 -1/2m per game?)

I dont think it's any coincedence that Liverpool Football Club tend not to have "trouble Players" I think it has a lot to do with the ethics of the Club and Club rules etc. I think back to Julian Dicks and Razor ruddock signing for us and thinking oh Sh!t why are we signing these Psycho's when in fact both behaved flawlessly during their time at the club. Liverpool FC may well prove to be as good fro Bellamy as he is for LFC. Great Opportunity for him to leave his dodgy past behind and be successful at a Big Club.

Bellamy's 'reputation' is completely over-rated and exaggerated. Typical British tabloid rubbish.

Norwich City - Performances: Good | Discipline: No Problems
Coventry City - Performances: Good | Discipline: No Problems
Newcaste Utd - Performances: Good | Discipline: Problems with Souness
Celtic - Performances: Good | Discipline: No Problems
Blackburn Rovers - Performances: Good | Discipline: No Problems
Wales - Performances: Good | Discipline: No Problems

As a player he has been no trouble, apart from his spat with Souness at Newcastle Utd, and an unhapiness of being played out-of-position with Bobby Robson. What player HASN'T had a run in with Souness? Souness would start an arguement with himself. What player HASN'T had problems at Newcastle Utd? The most notorious premiership club for problem players, alcoholics, disharmony, instability, under achievement and a board that's every bit as bad as those players.

Bellamy has had off the field personal problems, but that's his own private life. Most of it has been Roy Keane-esque stuff, like people having a pop at him while he's out socialising etc and Bellamy being stupid enough to react. He's just got married a few weeks ago, so hopefully he'll settle down and play his best football at Anfield. I'm sure he will. Great signing for £6m :D

I know alot has been said about Bellamy and he has a bit of bother every now and then, but he hasn't kicked a ball for Liverpool yet so at least give him a chance. IMO he is just what Liverpool need.
