Switzerland versus France.

Goddam awful.

When I watched Togo against South Korea, I didnt expect to see worldbeaters on the field, but at least I saw some goals, adventurous play, and some passion.

In the French-Swiss game, which had some of the best players on display, all of the above were missing.

Let me repeat, bloody AWFUL!!!

When I looked at today's fixtures I immediately thought it would be the worst day so far and it certainly has. Both games have been so poor I don't think Brazil could even help. :)

Without doubt France v Swiss.
France were rubbish, no shape or passion. And as for the Swiss why bother going to the World Cup if you aren't even going to try and play soccer. The RTE panel "Brady" in particular said they were Ireland when managed by Charlton, I find that a bit of an insult really at least we followed up the long ball and put defenses under pressure.:mad:

I quite liked the Swiss game, more so than the Brazil game for some
reason, maybe it was because I had a side bet on the Swiss, it seemed to
fly by but the Brazil game seemed to drag on.

Truely was the worst game so far, although Germany-Poland wasn't much better.

My dislike for Frei grows as his unparalleled selfishness was demonstrated yesterday when he tried to force the ball home a la Heidar Helguson when he could have just let it run by and onto the head of Djorou.

Bit of a shame that my thread got merged with another, I had wanted this thread only to be named "Worst game so far" so it could be added to throughout the tournament.

Although to be honest, there can hardly be another game worse than France-Swiss!!

Switzerland are the luckiest international side in Europe, and they don't even have to qualify for the next tournament, but their match with France was better than some of the others I've seen. How about Tunisia-Saudi, England-Paraguay, or Angola-Portugal?? All worse than the Swiss game, imo.

Doesn't have the same excitement as 4 years ago, as all the big teams have won so far bar France, but France had the most difficult game. :(

England-Paraguay ran it a close 2nd. Though watch both France and the Swiss get to at least the last 8. They will both improve and much as I dislike this Swiss team they are a very hard team to beat. Sound familiar!

There's some matches that may be boring but are watchable. For example, last nights match was terrible but I couldn't take my eyes off it. I didn't even plan on watching France-Swiss as I just couldn't watch it. I watched England's game and Portugals game but couldn't watch Mexicos or Tunisia-Saudis. :)

Second half of Tunisia V Saudis was very enjoyable. The Saudi goals were good too.
