Not sure about Robben on the bench-he was kept quiet for most of the second half.

I'd put Sneijder ahead of Acuna as well.

Pauleta or Saviola in for Robben ?

I thought Saviola would be the better of the two but I would have Brazo(MEX) in the first X1 instead of Crespo.

I wouldn't be surprised if no Brazilians ended up in it. They would have to produce one hell of a performance. But they probably will:rolleyes:

can see Ronaldo bagging a few tommorow and also probably being top scorer again

Sorin is one of the most over rated players in this world cup.
the next match just keep an eye out for him aand you will see how little he really does.

I don't know about Cahill. Pirlo would be a stick in for me.

I wouldn't have Robben in there, the greediest player in the world Cup.

Schweinsteiger was class in the first match.

Rosicky is a player I would have in a World Cup XI
Not sure about the other 10 though.

Bravo (MEX) - Cahill (AUS)

Cannavaro (ITA)
Jankulowski (CZE)

Boruc (POL)
Grygera (CZE) - Cannavaro (ITA) - Nesta (ITA) - Lahm (GER)
Figo (POR) - Pirlo (ITA) - Yorke (TRI) - Kaka (BRA) - Rosicky (CZE)
Torres (SPA)

Xavi could easily be in there too. If I'm being biased I'd have Nakamura on the bench as I thought he was excellent for Japan. He played through the final half hour through injury and was heading for MOTM until Cahill scored a brace.

For me Grygera was excellent, laid the goal on a plate for Koller and also put in quite a few crosses aswell as keeping a clean sheet. Cannavaro and Nesta never looked like conceding. The only time Buffon was troubled was from a 30 yarder from Essien and Ghana are no slouches. Lahm has got man of the match in his 2 games so far so is a stick in.

Figo was one of the few players who came of Portugal's game with credit, he was excellent. Pirlo put in probably the best all round performance of the tournament for me. Excellent going forward and put in more tackles than most players in the WC so far. Kaka was the only one of the Brazilian quartet that played close to his best. His goal was also top class. Rosicky - 2 goals and wasn't holding back from getting stuck in. The best player in one of the best performances. Yorke was brilliant. He was all over the pitch and the best defensive performance from a midfielder so far.

There's a few strikers that have scored a couple of goals but Torres impressed me most. He score one of the goals of the tournament and set up a few chances too. He looked very lively.

btw - I wouldn't include on the bench. Ukraine broke through Spain's offside trap 4 times yesterday and 3 of those times were wrongly ruled out for offside. I was not impressed with their defending in the least.

Pirlo was given the time and space to pick his passes, I've seen him tightly marked for long periods in Milan games and he disappears. I can't see that happening against the US, maybe the Czechs will mark him, since several of their top players are familiar with him from playing in Serie A

totally agree about Pirlo, easy to mark out of the game and can be a bit of a luxury for the Italians.

Yorke was brilliant again today, best player on the pitch, ran the show for Trinadad was shouldn't have been on the losing side.

totally agree about Pirlo, easy to mark out of the game and can be a bit of a luxury for the Italians.
It doesn't take away from his fantastic performance against Ghana though. Also, Essien went in for 3 tackles and made a foul on all 3 occasions according to FIFA. Pirlo put in 9 tackles and 8 of them were succesful. I think Pirlo outshone Essien in every department on Monday.
