After a difficult year at the helm, the waterford and district junior league committee has stepped down at the AGM last night.

Where this leaves Waterford Junior football next year remains to be seen.

Given the success achived by clubs in the league in recent seasons it is even more difficult to take.

Im not aware of anyone who is willing to step into the breach.

It is hoped at this time that the Munster FA may take control of the league in the interim.

Sad day for Waterford Football and a sign of the times Im afraid.

lot's of niggly issues but
the numbe rone isssues appears to be the perceived lack of support that the Munster FA have shown to the Waterford Junior League. For the last 5 approx cased which waterford Junior League has dealt with they have thus been appealed to Munster, and Munster have ruled against the Junior League each time!
Other issues includes clubs failing to support Junior league rule changes with regards to fee increases!!

This is a pitty that the L.M.C. and the Munster Council can't see eye to eye
its about time someone inpartal should set in and heal the rifft betwen them other wise this will reflect on clubs.
you need Junior League to run football by L.M.C. body and not and it over to Munster Council at the end of the day were the appeals out of order ?
you and your clubs have a responabiltyto elect a new council if no a greement can come out of this.
In the intrest of Junior Football.

Anyone from Waterford Junior League circles should be pleased to hear that the Factory League has been salvaged. Fixtures are being posted today.

It is possible that the competition will start this coming Monday

(The Factory League is a 60 year old competition that has been the lifeblood of waterford football in the summer months)
