MONS LAID OUT BY LIMS LATE WINNER
A much depleted Monaghan United took to the pitch on Friday night last to face top of the table Limerick in the eircom League first division. Monaghan were without 10 of their first team squad through injury and suspension. It was a mostly under 21 side who faced the mite of Limerick with heart (but not Harte!) they fought hard and were unlucky to succumb to Limericks luck when Colin Heffernan dismayed the young team by putting his team in front in the 87th minute.

The World Cup break from the eircom League has started with no domestic fixtures scheduled until the weekend of the 23rd of June. Mons travel to Cobh on the 24th June to face the Ramblers and our next home game will be on Tuesday 27th June against Finn Harps at Century Homes Park with the usual 8pm kick off.

UNDER 15’S WIN TOURNAMENT
The Republic of Ireland Under 15 development squads had a successful weekend in Wales when they won the Celtic Tri Nation Tournament. The tournament was divided into “A” and “B” sections and Ireland’s teams came out on top in both sections. Monaghan United’s Kevin Martin was on both the “A” and “B” teams while Mark Connolly helped fly the flag for Monaghan on the “B”. Both these young lads are a credit to the club and their families and Monaghan United wish them all the best in their exams and hopefully they will be getting call-ups to the Republics Under 16 squads next season!

SUMMER CAMP 2006
Monaghan United FC will be running their annual Summer Fun Soccer Camp starting on 3rd July to the 7th July at Century Homes Park and Astro Park. The summer camp is an important part of Monaghan United’s annual fundraising to provide great footballing facilities for everyone in the County. We would ask that all parents whose children play football at Monaghan United send their children to this camp to help ensure that your child has football in the future years.

The final date for registering for camp has been extended to 19th June but hurry as the kit has been ordered and we need to ensure that correct kit is made available for your child. Post to : Summer Camp, Monaghan United FC, Century Homes Park, Monaghan, drop in letterbox at Century Homes Park or give to Monaghan United Officials who will be collecting them at Mini Leagues on Sunday mornings.

CAR BOOT SALE
Don’t forget that Monaghan United FC now hold a monthly Car Boot Sale. Last Sunday’s sale was a major success with many people wheeling and dealing in the sun! The next sale takes place at Century Homes Park on Sunday 2nd July from 10am. The cost of entering a Car is a measly €10 and a Van a pathetic €15. Come along and sell everything from books to baths! Get there early so you don’t miss the bargains.
