The Galway United World Cup draw for participating Bars in Galway City and County took place live on Galway Bay FM on Tuesday morning. The eventual finalists will get the chance to display their skills in front of the Terryland crowd on a playing surface which promises to be in top condition after the upcoming four week break. You can watch the progress of the 32 participating entrants on the website. Good luck to all the teams.

I couldnt find any info on the time and date of these matches? Do you know when they'll be on?

what times do you mean here? The pubs are only assigned to teams, they
follow their team for as long as they are in the world cup. The last two
in it will then play in Terryland.

Oh so that's how it works.
Unlucky on Fox's they'll have to wear the England colours if they get to the final, no?:p

Oh, ok. I thought it was going to be some sort of competition like the salthill 5's or something. How much did each pub pay to enter again?

E500.

Fergal Murphy and Nial McNelis were behind it, well done to both.

Excellent job, and well done to both individuals in coming up with a brilliant money raiser for the club. 32 x 500 = E16,000 minus whatever costs. Again well done.

Just wondering - what do the pubs get in return for their E500? I can't see what they stand to gain, to be honest. Maybe I'm missing something!
