No denying that, but it's a massive help that you play all your home games on the astro pitch behind the main Showgrounds pitch. It has been approved for use for this season only, it is smaller than the regulation minimum size and you have won every game on it. I'm told Drogheda initially refused to play on it, don't know if that's true.

Do Dundalk play on theirs?
Yes they do.
It is full size. I'm not sure if the surface is different, I've heard that it is different from the normal astro surface.
United lost 2-1 at Letterkenny Rovers today, makes qualification difficult for us now.

Bray lost 2-1 to Shamrock Rovers. 2 howlers from Bray keeper Chris O'Connor absolutely gifted Rovers an undeserved win. The Rovers keeper had a great game, pulled off some excellent stops.

Almost sure it has put us in the last 16 as well, top 2 have home advantage. Good result for us considering we were 2 down at half time !

Anybody know where you would get an updated mid western section league table?
Athlone website. :)

Before someone asks, there's a Northern section table on the Monaghan site (a week or so old though) and the Dublin one is on the Pats site.

The table on the Athlone site was missing one Kildare result.

What was the result? You've only edited the table to include Kildare's result, and not the corresponding team as far as I can see.

Athlone beat Mullingar Athletic 3 - 1 away last night to move three points behind Galway with a game in hand. A win against Longford in a re-arranged game should guarantee our qualifying spot.

KildareFan
10/10/2006, 3:50 PM
In your table, you were 3 goals and 1 win short of the Kildare total so you may be missing Kildare's 3-1 win over Longford from the weekend before last?

If it's not that one, i can send you on the kildare results for the end to see if you are missing one.

Do you run the Athlone website by the way? it's excellent

Well unless you played another game since I put up the table, I'd get on to the League, because that is the official table as per 12/10/06!

Athlone's remaining games are Longford away (15/10/06), Kildare at home (22/10/06) and Mayo at home (24/10/06).
