Time to get speculating - I reckon Pats will give a run for your money at a decent price. Although I just keep having flash backs to last year and the fantastic price I got on Derry to win the cup at this stage only for a last minute peno to dump them out in the semi-finals AAAARRGRH

Galway are always a good bet for the cup.If we manage to get past the second round we'll probably get to the semi finals.:)

E10 on 50/1 definitely if we beat Athlone.

They're hardly going to be 50/1 after you beat Athlone! :)

which would still win you nothing !!! I would say we are a good bet if we beat Shels or Cork but beating Athlone??? (no offence to ATFC)

A good bet to me is either Drogheda or Derry.

The last time Derry were 16/1 was around the 3rd round of last seasons competition

I have 200 on Derry because it's the only cup Kenny hasn't won so i think they'll go all out to win it this season.

I am a Harps supporter but Crumlin are at 15/2 to KO us which I have to admit are generous odds.

We have got to the semi finals twice in the last 6 seasons. We've got Derry and Cork in the last 3 years in the second round.Last year we should have went through aswell(cork fans know what happened). We are a good cup bet......do you want me to make you happy and suggest that Sligo are a good cup bet too.

City at joint favourites ? I bet you would've got higher odds before we beat the Langers on Saturday night.

Maybe the bookies are finally giving the team the credit it deserves - which is often a proverbial kiss of death

Paddy Power have Shels outright favourites at the same price with the other leading challengers on more generous odds.

Drogs were 20-1 last season before they beat Dundalk in the cup, unfortunately I didn't have money on them, as I spent it well on ladbrokes special handicap on Derry for the league (made up for the disappointment);) .

I'll go for the recent cup specialists Longford at 20-1 - a value bet. A tricky home draw against Cork who are finding it difficult to score away from home, worth an oul twenty I'd say. It'll make the televised match a bit more interesting. A big task to beat Cork nevermind win the cup but Longford impressed me at the Brandywell when they played well in the league cup and with recent cup runs they have proved to be hard to beat.

Rovers 28/1 for good reason, but since I support the Hoops I'll be sticking the free balance on it each way doubled with something else equally mad.

.....i had dream ages ago we'd play drogheda in the cup. sh*te dream but it'd be sweet to beat that fu**in dan connor.....

that was last season so if i have any similar dreams this year i'll be backing whoever.

i wouldn't touch bohs as they are but surely they'll spend some of the dalymount money in july&they prob won't have any hope of doing anythin in the league so they could focus their attentions on the cup. i'd say shels would be a good shout cos they haven't featured in the latter stages for a while but like cork, drogs&derry they won't wanna let their league form suffer. i'll prob have an optimistic few quid on ourselves but if we sign 2-3 quality players(carl motteram, chris cottrill&mark mccrystal possibly) we might be in with a serious shout

I'd certainly whack a few Euro on that tonight - the way Farrelly is "managing" then a shock may be on the cards.

Remember Wayside Celtic last season  (and the Kildare County fiasco)

Yeh I threw €5 on that earlier in PPs and Longford 1-0 win at 7/1. Also, away wins for Drogs, Derry, Shels, Sligo, Pats, and Rovers - I'll win pittance though :o

I put a fiver on Galway, Bohs, Longford, Kildare, and Waterford U to win last night, at odds that would have made me 300EU. At 9:37 Aertel informed me that I only needed a Galway goal to win the money but alas, it didn't work out.

Based on recent Cup form I`d be backing Derry & Longford & laying Shels to all comers.

I can`t understand Shels being favourites over Derry unless there is a fair bit of money on them already.

PP online odds will be exact same as in PP shop (same with ladbrokes, William Hills, Boyles etc) but online you can shop around and might find value in other bookies, or more likely on Betfair
