Surprised he has'nt Stuart Pearce and Alan Shearer in there, seeing as he tried to sign both players on several different occasions.........

yeah, some might think it a strange choice but he was a bit of an unsung hero.

His reserves are Jennings, Scoles, Lampard, Ferdinand and Shearer.

I always thought Shilton was overrated and was guaranteed a few "uncharacteristic errors" every 2 months or so. Jennings was far superior.

Rooney ahead of Lineker... strange one.

Who's McGrain?

Celtic right back through late 70's and early 80's, acknowledged as one of the world's top right backs at his peak. Had diabetes and once fractured his skull.

He can't mean Rio. Some sort of joke. Good but surely loads better than him over the last 30 years.

He must mean Rio, I doubt he means Les...

Anton:confused: :D

And I think the reason he doesn't have Pearce and (especially) Shearer in there is precisely because he tried to sign them.

He tried to sign Butcher, Adams and Gascoigne too though.

Plus he paid 30 million for Ferdinand so he has to have him in there somewhere!

Ah Rio, quite simply THE most over rated player in the history of the beautiful game.

Should really be compared to the beautiful game. I'd ask you to edit that post...

Rooney is way ahead of Lineker but leaving out Dalglish is criminal

Looks like he's trying to justify the over-inflated prices he's paid for players over the years. Frankly I wouldn't name Rio Ferdinand in a "best of British 2006 and playing at Man United" team. And Rooney, fine player though he is, can't yet justify a place ahead of Dalglish just yet. If it hadn't been a British team he'd have had Veron in there too :)
