I thought he would. He wants to win the Champions League with Arsenal- if they had won he would have left.

Cole might stay now.
Not so sure about Pires.

Fair play to him for staying........ great to see such loyality from him.

Can't see Cole or Pires staying being honest, both really look like they want out, especially Bobby after the champs leage substitution early in the game.

It looks like Pires may stay. Rumours of Arsenal agreeing to let Ashley Cole go to Chelsea if they can get SWP in return. Would make sense as Gael Clichy is quality. Also, looks like Arsenal have just signed Rosicky - quality player.

How much does loyalty cost these days for a player like Henry?

I'm sure Arsenal have made more than enough money off Henery on image rights, jersey sales after all the years he's been at the club. He coulkd have moved to another club and got a hell of a lot more money in the form of a signing on fee and wages but he decided to stay at Arsenal because he wants to take lead them into the new stadium and to try gain success in europe

You might have detected, I'm a wee bit cynical of the use of the word loyalty in this context. I don't doubt that Henry has sound football reasons to sign a new contract and also sound commercial reasons. The connection is cemented in an ever expanding complex commercial contract. With a wage contract of maybe £6m or £7m P/A, quite a few clubs could afford that but out of that you could imagine that Henry would only consider a couple that matched level of football with level of finance available.
I'd consider the loyalty bit like a conditional marraige contract with a pre nuptial agreement.

Don't agree with you Geysir. Henry isn't the type of person that is motivated by money. He comes across as being genuine and badly wants to help Arsenal win the CL.
