I'm receiving heaps of emails that used to be filtered out on hotmail. Any one else experiencing that too?

Gmail much better than Hmail. If you set up your preferences on gmail to US English you can have instant chat when logged in. very fast and good.

I use GMail, but a good few people still send stuff to my hotmail address so I have to keep it.

One really crap thing about hotmail is you have to sign in every 30 days (or 60, cant remember) which is fine normally but lots of my mates who had been travelling got caught out by this. It mad really given that some of them had the account for years, but failed to sign in on time and all their contacts gone. That is totally cráp.

Same is happening with Gmail, there's a couple of big spams and non-malicious joe jobs (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_job) going around at the moment, with the latter generating a ton of bounces that aren't being caught by spam filters. They'll catch up on it shortly.

I've noticed a lot of spam emails consisting of images of a page of text getting through the spam filters, but volume is up for me too. As you say, it'll die down soon.

120 days (http://www.tomrafteryit.net/if-i-had-a-suspicious-mind/) if you switch to Windows Live Mail. (Tried the beta, hated it.)

Live Mail is part of Microsoft's Live Ideas (http://ideas.live.com/) product group, mostly powered by AJAX (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AJAX) and intended to compete with Google. Live Mail is an AJAX-powered webmail client targeted at Gmail. It'll replace Hotmail completely in time.

always found it difficult porting addresses from one a/c. to another. If anyone can put up an 'idiot-proof' guide as to how this can be done, is appreciated!
I transferred my address book from Hotmail to Gmail quite easily. I think I had to save it onto my computer and import it to Gmail from there. I don't have my hotmail address anymore so I can't check how it's done again I'm afraid.

just a quick question when were talking about emails.. is there, or are there some types of email, im talking specifically about vodafone mail here(rubbish i know but seeing as i have the account i might as well use it) that do not work with email clients such as outlook or thunderbird?? i simply cannot get vodafone webmail to work with thunderbird and there dosent seem to be any kind of online support/forums for vodafone mail so i havent been able to find out if they simply dont work together..
