Murphy...Moran

SUBS:

Well you can only have 5 subs AFAIK so who would ya leave out of the squad?
Rojas and O Donnell
for
Mixie and Dowdy?

Didnt realise that we were operating without cover for Gough, so Gruzka will have to come back into the panel.

In my opinion, Keane is the only one of the subs on the bench against Monaghan who would be in contention for a place in an injury free starting XI.

O'Donnell will be missing the Athlone game anyway - he is in the EL u21 squad. I would drop him and possibly Rojas. Goldbey can operate as limiited cover for a forward player in the event of an injury. Havent been overly impressed with Gavin.

thought odonnell looked good when he came on the last day - suppose easy enough when your winning

The Athlone boys reckoned Gavin was their best player last year so i'd say he has a bit to offer.....more than what we have seen anyway. In fairness Lally bought him as a right winger and only that Cretaro came in unexpectedly late on he probably would start.
Goldbey as PD said is "limited" to say the least.Lally will probably get a striker in July so Goldbey shouldn't really be in the squad after that IMO.

So is the match still going ahead? At the start of the season it was seen that the grounds had trouble in taking a bit of rain. Has it rained as much in limerick in the past few days as it has in Galway?

TEAMNEWS:

Mixie Harty is back in the squad again after recovering from an ankle knock which forced him to miss the last four matches. David Cooke is also fit again after missing out last week.
Stevie Gavin is a doubt due to a knock he got last week after coming on as a sub in the Monaghan United game, he got a knee into his hip in a collision with the Monaghan keeper. David O'Dowd is still out and is expected to be out for another couple of weeks, but is hopeful of a return before the three week break for the World Cup.

It won't be before the break. Limerick also have to play Shamrock Rovers in a postponed game and this will probably be in July. Our game will be probably be in July/August.

What a disaster today was to be my second away trip of the campaign:mad: could we not take them on in a game of water polo or something:D . It s ridiculous that in this country a bit of rain can affect a game. If Limerick do go up they should be made do serious work on that pitch. Now the league table is going to be all over the place again. Both cancellations being because of Lims ground (I think, correct me if i'm wrong)

A game being called off because of a water-logged pitch in mid May is a bit of a joke alright. Bearing in mind that the same club recently used brush handles as corner flags, its not a surprise.

Shams v Limerick been called off wasn't Lims fault. However they had a match with Kildare at home called off twice!
Not good enough.A bit of rain during the week and then no match.Obviously Limerick can do nothing about inclement weather but an improvement in their pitch is needed asap! Poor show!!

that this match is called off. From what i have heard limerick have done no work on the pitch and also use it for training which is crazy. If the league is fining clubs crazy money for minor offences and letting limerick get away with this in late May how does it hope to move forward.

yea the league should take limerick if they cant take care of themselves

Well its not goin to help them in promotion surely if its going to be decided on the clubs perfomance off the pitch (no pun intended) if they cant get games played after a bit of rain. Summer Soccer youre havin a laugh!!!!!

Positive Note Terryland got much needed rain and now we can be in full voice for Athenry tommorrow night..... the soccer fix isnt fully lost!
