I had the day off today. I got out of bed to watch the match, and saw ENG 1 BRA 0 and thought "feck this!" and went back to bed. Couldn't sleep properly, got up again an hour later and saw ENG 1 BRA 2 and thought "woohoo!".

BTW That Darragh Moloney is some English-wannabe!
The best was when Ronaldinho was sent off for a clip on Donkey Mills and Moloney says "Thank God Mills is ok" !!!!

Copacabannockburn by Barry Manilow

His name was David,
He was a goalie,
With a pigtail in his hair, why was he standing way out there ?
He tried to run back but couldn't make it,
The Brazilians watched it from a far, as it sneaked under the bar
You could hear the crowd roar, Rivaldo's lying on the floor
The lions whimpered out the door,
Oh baby, who could ask for more...

At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
Its great to watch Rivaldo turn,
At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
The man with the Moustache should stick to making the adverts,
At the Copa - They fell to bits.

His name was Rio, He was a diamond,
He was running round in rings, he saw Rivaldo level things,
And when he finished, He called him over
But Rio went to slow, Rivaldo slammed it in the goal,
And then Brooking had a spew, Motson bit his mike in two,
Then Rhonaldino, he got a red card, but with Mills picked by Sven
It looked like ten versus ten....

At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
Its great to watch Rivaldo turn,
At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
With heskey near the ball, how did they score a goal at all ?,
At the Copa - We laughed and laughed.

His Name was Bobby, He was the captain,
But that was 30 years ago, thats when they used to have a show,
Now its a party, but not for Beckham,
Still in the dress he used to wear, faded feathers in his hair,
He slumps down on the pitch refined, and then cries himself half blind,
He lost his cup, and lost his glory,
But up in Scotland thats not the story....

At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
Its great to watch Rivaldo turn,
At the Copa, oh, Copa-ca-bann-ock-burn,
Three little kittys on the chest, Now we all know whos the best,
At the Copa....we...said...good-byeeeeeeee!!.
:D

I didn't really care who won & watched on BBC toi save myself from the RTE-England lovefest.

I don't think England can have complaints about the result & as i predicted the heat may have made the difference in the end.

England created very few chances, Beckham chickened out of challenge that started 1st Brazilian goal, Beckham took swan dive in box which surely deserved a yellow card & the sending off was ludicrous.

I thought when they behind against 10 men england didn't do enough hoofing as given the heat they could have throw 3 or 4 forwards up.

I'd say if Beckham & Owen had actually performed in the WC england may have done something.....

btw great goal by the other cheat Rivaldo.

I cannot see what is so great about Beckham. Great cross and free-kick and then.....?
Anyone like to enlighten me??

No doubt he takes a mean free kick & handy enough from corners etc.... & while he'd do nicely on the irish right midfield don't see how he could be nominated for team of the tournament so far.

I'll take Finnan at right-midfield with Carr at right-back over Beckham and Mills anyday.

So Ireland going out on penalties is better than England winning. Nice logic.

have to agree there. I could never bring myself to cheer england on, but I don't really see the point in hating them so much. Youshould have seen all the english over here for the Ireland games- they were all roaring us big time.
