The hooligan element at Leeds are very far and few these days,yes ,there are a few numpties like at any club but it's nowhere near the level it was in the 70's and 80's,there are many more clubs with a more active hooligan element on the scene,Leeds are nowhere near the worst I'm proud to say,our Ultras have tamborines at the games these days:D

That's spot on and although most of us here in Ireland have affiliations to English club, I think we're objective enough to realise that almost all of them have a scum element. Let's not get embroiled in that. There's an guy who drinks in our local that continually brings up sh*te like that, some of which is total jib - Things like do you know what KOP stands for?; Ruud van nistelrooys dad is the head of the orange order in Holland; Liverpool fans spend their sundays "paddybeating" in the city suburbs. I think it's disgraceful they show Liverpool v Chelsea instead of Livingston v Celtic.

Leeds were giving their own players money -in direct breach of a rule yes but hardly earth shattering stuff. It was a widespread practice in the league and Leeds City were the only ones caught -and that due to a disgruntled employee making a complaint to the authorities.

Having been i) beaten up by Leeds "fans" in 1985 (after Watford beat them 4-0 at Elland Road in a League Cup tie), ii) watched Leeds "fans" wish cancer and AIDS on Coventry fans during and after the 1987 FA Cup semi-final between the two clubs, and iii) seen Leeds "fans" spit on a child and punch his father after the game at Watford last September (his only crime was to question why they were smashing the windows of the pub in which he sat), it's kinda hard to feel anything but the revulsion I mentioned earlier. So stick to that comfy armchair in the nice South Dublin bar. Far better for your health, I can assure you.

FWIW, apart from the nice people on here that (amazingly to my mind, at least) profess a liking for the white shîte, I've yet to meet a decent Leeds fan. So forgive me my petty prejudice against LUFC and those that follow them, m'kay? :rolleyes: (And stick to that armchair...)

In each of the three occasions I listed above I bore personal testimony to the sheer inhumanity, personal depravity and downright nastiness of people whose only trait in common that I could perceive, at least, was that they were Leeds supporters. Ergo, I have a deep mistrust, even to this day, of anyone who claims to support that club. And it's part (but only a part) of the reason why I hope Watford win on Sunday.

However, more pertinently the next time Leeds play at QPR,which could be in as little as 3 months time, guarantee will try to rustle up 10 or so. Some are of assorted Irish heritage, whilst others have been to see Celtic play! Not all bad.

I can only go on what I have seen personally, as discussed above. I'd hardly consider my reaction (as you put it) to be wide of the mark in such circumstances. Next time, for example, you're on the end of an unprovoked slapping from "fans" of another club, let's see how mangnanimous you are towards those fans afterwards.

EDIT - I think it's you who's wide of the mark, Mark. Check out the Leeds Rivals site for the messages of, er, "condolence" posted by the fans of other teams. I liked these little beauties myself. (The admin may well have removed them by the time you get there though).

What are you talking about? Watford sold out their allocation. You can't sell tickets that you don't have. Even you should know that.

Next season for them could be a different story; though in a way the same can be said for Leeds, B*tes, Blackwell & co., If they don't get a good start.

To be fair, as most Leeds fans' know, the club don't do finals. Well, not since 1972.

I saw enough yesterday to know that Leeds will be challenging again next season. As for the Hornets, well, Sunderland's points record from this season is there to beat. ;) But that's for another day.

No complaints at all. Leeds scarcely turned up yesterday. Did all the simple things badly for the most part and couldn't do the tricky things at all.
Scoreline was, as Gonzo said, probably a bit harsh mind.

I grew up in Watford and used to play for Watford schoolboys. Those are reasons enough for me to still have a massive soft spot for the club, even if I couldn't lay claim to the title of "die-hard supporter" any more. And reasons enough to get my hands on a play-off final ticket. :D
