Any thoughts on setting one up on a fairly regular basis.

Why a podcast? Surely an email is much better as a news format than audio or AV?

Heh, I've been afraid to say anything after my blogging suggestion blew up in my face a couple years ago; I think I might be a bit ahead of my time. :)
Anyway, great idea Réiteoir, if/when you need anything from me, gimme a shout.
(I'm still open to a Foot.ie blog if any of the reg'lars are into it btw!)

I've produced the Derry podcasts, so I'll gladly give advice/help if required.

Adam - I'd certainly be interested in contributing to a blog
I'll have something in proposal for a Podcast by the end of this week.
Gareth - I would like to approach yourselves and the guys at Derry to either take some pieces from your casts (with your permission of course) - or get those people to record some special League specific stuff for this one

Could someone explain what a podcast actually is?

Its basically an audio or video file, that is downloaded, but instead of the usual methods, they adapted itunes to monitor a file so when it is updated, itunes can notify you of a new "episode", its pretty much a marketing thing :).

Do I need an ipod? - I have a creative zen - will that work?

Yeah. Its basically called an podcast cos apple decided to link the "ipod" with broadcasting. Its in essense an mp3 file you can use on any mp3 player usuallyt. You can get "podcast" recievers like juice, if you dont like using iTunes.

How would we understand some of the reporters though? ;)

What is a podcast?
A podcast is a short audio programme available to download over the internet and listen via your computer or an iPod or other similar MP3 players.
What do I need to listen to it?
You can listen to a podcast using your computer and any program capable of playing MP3 files (Quicktime, iTunes, Realplayer and Windows Media Player).
You can also listen to it via your web browser.

Podcast: Interview with Alan Kelly
A legend in the green as a player Alan Kelly is now part of Stephen Staunton's backroom staff working with Shay Given and Paddy Kenny to keep Ireland's last line of defence on their toes.
Kelly knows the rigours and twists and turns of a qualifying campaign and is looking forward to dealing with it in his new position as part of the pitchside back up as he told Bob McKenzie of FAI.ie.
