Possibly: Andy O'Brien (Portsmouth) and Bruce (Birmingham).

Coming up: Doyle, Long and Hunt of Reading and Kenny, Quinn and Geary of the Blunts.

Play off contenders Palace and Leeds each has Irish players. Not sure about either Watford or Preston.

Owls Irish Whelan, Coughlan, Partridge and Corr retain their CCL status :D

Congrats on staying up, though it's been on the cards for a while now I suppose. A big hope of mine for next year is that Glenn Whelan steps up his game. I know you think otherwise but I really like Whelan. I read that Leon Best was excellent at the weekend (MOTM in The Guardian). Did you deliberately leave him out?

Maybe some of the Sunderland Irish will get a move up (Lawrence most obvious candidate) though Elliott's injuries mean he's hardly even been in the shop window. An injury-free year in the Championship won't be a disaster for him though. Relegation is probably good news for Daryl Murphy.

Obviously the big positive has been the Reading contingent. Paddy McCarthy has been a qualified success at Leicester

I hope Birmingham go down as it'll make it easier for the likes of Painter & Bruce to get established.

I'll definitely be cheering for Leeds, next preference is for Palace (Clinton).

I think I want Brentford promoted from Div 1. Brentford have some Irish, while those at Colchester are only on loan I think.

After his nightmare this season I think it would be better for Elliott to stay at Sunderland and re-establish himself in the Championship. If he scores a few before Xmas I'm sure there will be a few in for him in January.

Thanks. Best is only on loan from Southampton. He was also substituted against Brighton - we lose a few players from Millwall and Brighton going down to Division 1.

I'd love Whelan to make it but for every lovely pass he plays, he'll give another one away.

I haven't seen enough of Whelan to make a judgement but I didn't think he had enough of an engine to make it at Premiership level, has his conditioning improved during the season?

And about your remark on his giving the ball away, is he just a bit too adventurous or just sloppy?

I think it might just be a case of him being a bit adventurous. Anytime I've seen him, I get the impression that he just likes to stroke long passes across the pitch when sometimes there are easier passes available.

Mark Quigley is playing for Pats now after a spell with Rovers.

Regarding those teams relegated from the Championship. Milwalls Irish players are Alan Dunne, Bary Cogan and Colin Doyle is on loan there from Birmingham.
Brighton have Henderson and Paul McShane is on loan there.
The closest Crewe have to an Irish player is Luke Rodgers(ex Shrewsbury)who got a few column inches about his eligibility to play for us a few years back.

Southend have Kevin Maher and also Gerard Nash (on loan from Ipswich)
Colchester have Billy Clarke (on loan from Ipswich) and Mark Yeates (on loan from Spurs)
Brentford have Kevin O'Connor and Jay Tabb.
Huddersfield have Michael Collins.
Barnsley haev Nick Colgan, Stephen McPhail, Barry Conlon and Martin Devaney.
Forest who a few years ago had a lot of Irish playershave only John Thompson.
Swansea have our friend Lee Trundle, Kevin Nugent and Goalkeeper Brian Murphy.
