According to the Mirror. Dicker, Hurley and Mahon are slight doubts but should be OK. Mirror has a Hurley-Dicker-Tony-Podge midfield, dropping Cawley! Cawley, incidentally, was on the eleven-a-side team of the week again this week - twice in a row. Ciarán Quinn's still out with a hamstring. I would have thought Tony Mac would have come in for Conor Sammon with Podge going up front, though that does kind of leave us with four (good) central midfielders in the team.

I'd say that's pure guesswork by the Mirror. Cawley has to be starting. I think having both Tony and Cawley in the midfield together could make amassive difference this season if they can keep fit. Their experience would be quite beneficial in a vital area. I'd drop Hurley to the bench with the option of bringing him on for Dicker or Cawley if they aren't performing. I'd like to see Sammon and Byrne continue up front. They're both strong and mobile enough.

My crystal ball tells me Tomy Mac in defence.

Sorry, I meant Cawley shifting to the right. That gives you the option of a staight swap for Hurley later on or Hurley on for Dicker leaving any combo of Hurley in the middle and Cawley on the right or Cawley in the centre and Hurley on the right. I'd rather play Last, Shorthall or even myself before putting him in defence!

I can't see Kenna or Allie Mac being dropped at centre-back though. Unless we're moving Kenna to left-back again!
I'd go with -
Quigley
Mahon (r)
Ryan (l)
Kenna
McNally
McDonnell
Hurley (r)
Dicker
Cawley (l)
Podge
Paul Byrne
Podge and Paul up front gives you aerial strength, pace, power and mobility. And probably bugger all goals, but nothing new there!

If it were up to me I'd play:

Tony Mac...Tony Mac...Tony Mac...Tony Mac
Tony Mac.....Dicker........Dicker......Tony Mac
...............Tony Mac...Tony Mac.............
Manager: Tony Mac

I'd play me up front though. 'Cos with ten Tony Macs, you'd be guaranteed to win anyway, so I might as well play myself for the craic.
Edit - eight Tony Macs, two Dickers and me...stlil going to win.

The fact that UCDs answer to Wayne Gretzky ( aka The Great One) is returning should be cause for celebration. If we do win against Bray we will go 4th in the table given last night's results!

What's with the sudden optimism? Usually crushing pessimism is the order of the day? Also, don't jinx us!!!

Two Gary Dickers is enough to ensure a 0-0 draw. They'll retain 100% possession to no threatning effect.

Yes it's that lack of attacking threat that keeps him from becoming...the finished article.

A few points
1) Tony's back 2) The Mac's back 3) We should have beaten Cork! 4) Last night's results

Well, he's not. Was talking to Martin Russell - he should make the bench next week.
CTID - where were you today?
