Bit of a non-story really. I'm moving it to World Football.

Plymouth Argyle boss Tony Pulis admits he would love to unearth an Irish gem like Premiership-bound Reading star Kevin Doyle.

Is it something to be ashamed of that he has to "admit" it. "Don't tell anyone, but I'd love a 17 goal striker!".

Who wouldn't love a 17,18 or even 19 goal striker? Ask any manager of any team at any level. I'd love one in Championship Manager come to think of it too :D

Steve Coppell was at Belfield for UCD v Cork according to the Ireland on Sunday.

News of the World also reports that Steve Coppell was at UCD Cork to watch Darren Quigley. Looks like another Reading will poach another young star.

Quigley's never going to be at UCD for the long term and I think he shows enough promise to suggest he could do better than the eL entirely. Reading's keeper is a 33 year old American guy I think. Could be a good time to move with years still ahead of him and the Reading keeper getting on in age. Maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of myself. We'll see.

Reading goalkeeper Marcus Hanneman is superb and certainly of premiership standard so Quigley would only be his deputy.

If you are managin an el team or League one or lower in England then Peter Thompson or Mark Farren are superb. Rubbish above that level though

Emerald Isle? Does the headline writer on teamtalk listen to Val Doonican?
