I think seeing as so many Shels-orientated (nay I say slightly obsessed) threads have appeared lately in this section, I feel that it would be to most peoples interest that Shelbourne Website at holding a live Webchat on Wednesday 29th at 7pm where you can submit questions to Shels CEO Ollie Byrne.

I am sure plenty of people will have plenty to say on this.

Could be entertaining... Do questions have to submitted in advance & will it be censored? ;)

Gareth

Questions will be accepted from 6:45 onwards on the day, and the questions will be asked on a as we get them basis. We will not be able to answer all the questions as I expect quite a few, but we will oick good ones and nothing said will be censored, but we will be vetting questions but thats to stop the usual silliness.

Will questions from Bohs fans re ground-sharing, er, silliness be categorised as the usual silliness?
I'm sure lots would like to hear what Shels have to offer, from the horse's mouth.

Submit the questions. The questions will will asked and answered. I obviously don't know the nature of the answers as if I did I wouldn't need Ollie for to answer them. I am looking forward to it. Everyone is welcome. clearly stupid questions will be ignored and subsequent qquestions for the individuals snubbed.

So I can judge if what I ask is stupid or not? Do I then get to judge whether I will be 'snubbed' consequently or do you take over that right at that stage?

Just wondering really because somebody might want to have a little bit of fun, then any reasonably good questions by that person later would be ignored? Should you not just judge it on a question by question basis?

Lighthearted questions such as your wish to find out what biscuit will be treated as lighthearted questions.

"Can we ask him what his favourite wing in the joy was" is deemed stupid.

Yes it will. It is a text questions and answers session so you will be able to access it again and again just like a news article etc.

Ciaran Ruane: "Have Shels sold their lease on Tolka Park? If not, is it inevitable that they will and when?
"...

Answer: With regards to that question, it has been quite clearly noted and stated that for Tolka Park to meet full UEFA requirements, in the near future it would require a complete re-development starting from ground zero. There is an area action plan in the re-development of Richmond Road as a result of Fintans Tunnel. It would be fair to say that we have people in the background interested in the ground.

Anyone else think Olly avoided the question on the sale of the lease?

Ok Local Councillor and Shelbourne Supporters Club member Fintan Cassidy is one of the leading residents opposing the Port tunnel... hence Ollie calling it Fintan's tunnel.... alles klar? :D

Q. "If the move to Dalyer falls through is it out to Donabate then after the sale of Tolka?"

Answer: I have already answered this question. We have entered with honest intent in discussions with Bohemians Football Club. As I said earlier, there is no Plan B.

Yes. I don't know what that implies though. I didn't expect him to answer it anyway.

Tried his very best to be as diplomatic as possible but nice to see that beting Pats (and drawing with us) gives him so much pleasure.

Only nugget of info I got is that the D/Sport and the FAI are going to force lubs to groundshare. AFAIK Shels are the only club happy about the situation.

What do the Shels fans make of that, RR? It's about the only thing of note he said in the entire webchat, and it hasn't warranted a mention on the threa don the Shels forum, as far as I can see.

Also, he says he's up in court on Monday but has until the 18th to pay the taxes - I wonder is he misreading those notices again?

Raheny Red
30/03/2006, 1:42 PM
Maybe it went unnoticed with some people??

However, I have a feeling there is a plan B but Ollie doesn't want to let that slip
as it will reduce the chance of the groundshare (which won't happen btw).

The place where they should build it - is between Donaghamede and Portmarnock! There is a town being built called Newtown ironically! They are putting in thousands of homes, Dart station, schools, cinema, everything. That place is sreaming for a stadium!*

*Oh and I'm not only suggesting this as it is just down the road from me! :D  :)

With everyone bar non-Shels fans on foot.ie?

I suppose it's possible he does have a plan B and is keeping it from the fans to try and force the Dalyer issue. Doesn't say much for communication at the club though.

Communication is generally non existent so that's no suprise. It's very likely he's said that to put pressure on people to try and put the groundshare through or something like that.

In the WEBCHAT O.B. refers to the circumstances of the sale of the terraced ground, with the pitch still in situ but with the terraces filled in.
What are the circumstances that saw the ground go from Shelbournes ownership??

When did this happen??

Wasnt it nicknamed Pnuemonia Park??
