Does anyone know (http://www.breakingnews.ie/2006/03/24/story250823.html) if Alan Matthews still wants to return (http://www.irishfootballonline.com/clubs.php?club=Longford%20Town&newsid=4214) to Winter Football ??
If you don't play games you can't be beaten :D
I think hes decided new tactic of wearing brazilian colours to encourage new style of play too...

You are one of the biggest stirrers on this board. Any excuse to bump up your post count!

alan does actually agree with winter football, it brigs bigger crowds to flacare and therefore increases his budget, also witha young family it would allow him to take summer holiday like any other person, although that can be done this year with the break for the world cup if children are in second level school.
and how any cork supporter can comment on another clubs gear when their players are running around looking like long strings of toothpaste is beyond me:rolleyes:

Think Mr.Matthews is in a very small minority on this one, fortunately.
Maybe these postponed games might change his mind.

Well ya, they do.
Well ya, they do.
Roll on a summer season in Ireland then, so we don't experience 2 out of 3 games postponed. The league should move away from the winter season immediately...

Guys, i'll be honest with you ... i wasn't trying to stir. I was just pointing out the fact the he want to reture to Winter footie, i mean thats no secret and i posted to try and find out what people thought about it. I can see any problem with debating it to be fair (or am i wrong)
Anyway, i genuinely wasn't trying to cause trouble. If you want me to bin it or whatever just say so. Apologies if i ticked anyone off, that no what i intended to do.
You're right about the toothpaste though !! :)

Sod all games would've been postponed in January or February, as they were very dry months. March has been the wettest this year. This proves we should return to a winter season with immediate effect.
