Don't know much about different anti-virus software but I find Norton anti-virus very good.

Go for AVG Free or antivir.de

Free, but as good as the paid ones.

And then add Ad-Aware and Spybot Search& Destroy for anti-spyware.

That should make your PC completely safe and protected. No need to continue avoiding adult sites so ;)

Not sure about that now!

We use Symantec AntiVirus 10 and it does a good job.

Is it for home or work ??

Anti Virus is signature based for the most part and you'll find that because of that some of the free ones can be better than the paid ones as they are used more (simply because they are free) and are likely to have more signatures.

AVG Free from grisoft is very good.

Anti Spyware is essential. If you have a legitimate windows, Microsoft antispyware is good. I have that and Spybot. Use Norton antivirus (good enough my needs)
