Lads, on eL Weekly last night, Belfield seemed really dark .... is it always like that ?? It really showed patches in shadow and then parts that were under the lights were fine.

I was thinking the same myself. I'd say it might have been a camera problem, it didn't seem any darker than normal at the match and it's never been that bad on TV before.

i thought Ports v City (http://www.corktrophycentre.com/highlights/portadown200206.zip) looked very dark and i think the lads that were there said as much.

Shamrock Park is dark because too few lights and they are too far away from the pitch. Belfield looked crap on tv, huge dark patches on the near side of the camera - if it was a camera problem would not appear dark in patches...

Maybe move this to eL section for discussion on floodlight quality...?

Don't recall any such problems with the League Cup Final, which was live on telly? Though you're right - it was very dark on screen for some reason.

The club is videoing the games themselves this season and sending the footage into TV3 so I am told.

Most grounds with decent lights come up poor on telly. Tolka is a good example even Turner's X on occasions too

We've always done that, as far as I know?

Only in recent years have the club been videoing anything. Hence the difficulty compiling footage for a Club DVD etc. In recent years we have videoed games except when TV 3 and RTE on occasion send camera crew along. Apparently we are going to be sending in footage for all games bar the live one.

Great to see. More clubs should be doing this.

Well despite what John Delaney and some of the lesser lights think we are one of the more progressive clubs in the League;)

Should I bring a torch tonight to aid the pitchside lighting.

Tomorrow might be more useful.
