I had a fairly low key day, but good fun. Mad the amount of people who were rucking last night. My mate is in hospital at the moment waiting for CT scan results, he got a kicking  Apart from that it was a good day.

Ah, well done Rovers but watch Micky O'Connor at Athlone. He brought us up before and over the season you'll see Athlone, quietly and effectively, improve a great deal and be there or thereabouts, in the promotion stakes at season's end.
Take it from me.:p :D

We all got double paid for working on St Patricks Day. Easy money :o Didn't know it was so hugely celebrated up here. I even saw green hats and ginger beards next to the Donegall Road... There was a parade in the city apparently, but missed that due to work...

thats good that its recognised like that...

I am not sure if it legally obliged to pay your staff 200% that day, but my employer did. The boss sent an email around saying that who would show up at Paddy Day would get double salary that day. Worked well, as we were not extremely understaffed.

Mainly the foreigners who never seen it before requested holidays ; I have seen the Paddy Day hype last year already and didn't bother requesting a day off this time. Must admit though: I was a bit afraid of sectarian riots at the parade, which also played part in my decision to go working instead. But as far as I know no incidents were reported.
