Once or twice recently (like today) I found that foot.ie was unresponsive. I've had to disconnect from my ISP and reconnect, which I suppose changes my IP address.
Only-the-paranoid-survive interpretation: someone would prefer that I would just shut up and go off and buy Sky so that I can follow ManU
Faith-in-human-nature interpretation: it's a glitch/one of those things
Any ideas?

PS: also still having login demand problem in Mozilla, but not in IE.

I used to have that for a while and it done my head in if i had a long post typed up. That was with IE and i have Firefox now.

The logging in .... i's say empty your cache (and delete that cookie if you can) and close the browser and try again. That should solve both.

What version of Mozilla? Just wondering as well, do you have many other programmes open aswell?

There is no conspiracy. Please provide your 28-bit login identifier and a sample of skin from the nape of your neck to the background bot and we'll check into it for you. There is no conspiracy.

(Or clear your cache and cookies and restart your browser. There is no conspiracy.)

I was reluctant to clear all my cookies because that would mean having to remember logins to about 145 other places (mostly conspiracy theory sites).
I tried to isolate foot.ie cookies (in Firefox 1.07), and cleared the cache, but to no avail. Should I be looking for cookies with other names?
I understand that using IE makes a deeply unhip statement, but I swear that as things stand I only use it for this board...

Jeeze, i'd say just search cookies for 'foot' and have a look, should be fine. i have firefox 1.5.0.1 and its fine.

Thanks A Face. I didn't realise my version was so old -- it was supposed to auto-update!
Just upgraded, and the problem seems to have gone away. (I'll wait and see if it's a variant on the old reliable false dawn conspiracy.)
