Anybody any news on when the U21 League will start. Any teams leaving or new teams coming in?

Eircom Under-21 League Pre-Season Tournament

In the lead-up to the start of the new eircom under-21 League season, the
eircom League have organised a pre-season tournament. Split into two
groups, sixteen teams will compete for the honours. The top two teams in
each group will play-off in the semi-finals with each group winner being
the home team in the semi's.

Group 1: Cork City, Bray Wanderers, Limerick, Athlone Town, UCD, Cobh Ramblers, St.Patrick's Athletic and Shamrock Rovers.

Group 2: Shelbourne, Dundalk, Derry City, Finn Harps, Monaghan United, Sligo Rovers, Dublin City and Bohemians.

Games will be played each weekend beginning on the weekend of Sunday, March 26th.

The semi-finals will take place on the week-ending Sunday 21st May while
the final will take place on Sunday 4th June.

The Under-21 League proper will begin in mid-June.

This is going to be a 3rd comp for the 21s this year so expect clubs to use it to keep players fresh and give others trials, 5 overage players are allowed in this comp compared with 3 in the league and cup.

Beeslow are going to apply to join next season or season after.:)
Hope they don't play their home games at same time as Athlone Town:eek:

is there No Mayo team?

I Thought Mayo had an U21 this year!

Closing Date For applications Next week but heard its likely to be one of the crrent youth team managers with exprience at this level assisted by ???

Unless they mayo league have spoken to youths committee I doubt it, but may be thunder blast might tell us
knowing the youth managers they are only interested in youths could be wrong
stranger things have happened:)

Salthill Devon will be competing in this years league, as will GUFC.

Thunderblaster doesn't even know who coaches underage football in the county, never mind who will manage the Mayo U.21 team. Sorry, wrong man!! Ask Manfred?

THUNDER WE ARE TALKING ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL GAME HERE.
IT TAKES SOMEONE WITH BRAIN MATTER TO MANAGE OUR GAME, NOT SAYING FOR ONE SECOND THAT PAT HOLMES COULD'NT, HE WOULD PERFER SMALLER BALL SIZE 4 DONT YOU THINK SO?
